WMC-003T Browning
A mass-produced Mobile Core of the Western Hemisphere Alliance.
About this creation
The Browning, used by the Western Hemisphere Alliance in the 23rd Century AD, follows the "quality over quantity" approach to warfare. It is decently armored, very mobile, and sports a variety of armament. These attributes let it fit multiple roles.

Armament:
-Standard Model
1x 20x110mm Heavy Machine Gun (Magazine or Link Fed)
1x 30x80mm Pistol (Magazine Fed)
2x 8-Shot Guided Rocket Launcher
-Heavy Variant
1x Guided Missile Launcher
1x 30x80mm Pistol (Magazine Fed)
1x 8-Shot Guided Rocket Launcher

The Mk-22 Browning Heavy Machine Gun is the standard main weapon of the Browning Mobile Core unit, and is also where the MC's name is derived. The Mk-22 shares many design features with the M2 Machine Gun that was created in the early 20th Century. The Mk-22 can either be link fed or magazine fed. Multiple types of rounds can be fired from the Mk-22, with the most common being HEDP (High-Explosive, Dual Purpose) and API (Armor-Piercing Incendiary).

Spare magazines for the Mk-22 are carried behind the torso of the Mobile Core unit.

Twin Power Units supply the energy required for extended operation time. Like all power units, they need to be recharged. Miniature solar panels are mounted on top of each power unit to allow limited recharging while the unit is in operation.

Shoulder-mounted guided rockets give the Browning superb anti-armor capabilities. The Browning is the only Mobile Core equipped with guided rockets. Aside from the standard HE rockets, cluster rockets may also be equipped.

The sidearm of the Browning is magazine fed and fires a 30x80mm round. The sidearm allows the Browning to stay in the fight after the ammunition for its main armament has been depleted.

Spare magazines for the sidearm are mounted on the opposite leg.

The standard high-capacity ammunition box for the Mk-22 which mounts on the back of the Mobile Core unit. A chute attaches to the Mk-22 and feeds link-less ammunition to the chamber.

The shield for the Browning, which is covered with Reactive Panels. This gives increased defenses against explosive and small arms fire.

A spare magazine is stored on the inside of the shield.

The "claw" on the bottom of the shield allows the shield to be planted into the ground to create a hasty defensive fighting position.

The back-mounted parachute pack allows the Browning to parachute into areas for airborne operations. The pack is then jettisoned upon landing so the ammunition box can be equipped.

The "Heavy Variant" of the Browning, equipped with a guided missile launcher. This variant allows the Browning to take on a heavy support role. It keeps the standard sidearm, but gives up a rocket launcher.

The missile launcher fires 300mm missiles.

Spare missiles are mounted on the legs and back of the Browning.

The Browning is reloading the Mk-22, ejecting the empty magazine.

Before the Browning is finished reloading, a Lightning moves in and slams into the Browning.

The Browning is knocked down, and the Mk-22 is out of reach.

While the Lightning pauses to savor the kill, the Browning reaches for its sidearm and aims.

A well placed shot into the rocket launcher of the Lightning severely cripples the enemy Mobile Core.

A standard fire team arrangement of Browning MCs.

The Browning is the first Mobile Core that I created, and so far it has been my favorite Mobile Core to build and design. It has gone through very minor changes since its first design. Perhaps the largest change to it has been the add-ons, such as the ammunition box and the parachute pack.

Quoting Builder Allan Cool! Nice design ideas here. Those shoulder mounted launchers look great :-) Nice work on the legs too. Great overall shape and nice details, it looks a bit like a palladium-rpg mech.
Thanks! I have absolutely NO clue what Palladium RPG is, even after a quick Wikipedia look-up. This Mobile Core (and its variant, which shall be posted soon) are my favorite MCs, so they got the most "attention to detail," as the saying goes.

Quoting Mithryl Altaire Very cool mech. I like all the weapons options on it. Feel free to use whatever designs you like from my stuff. Thats what its there for. You don't need my permission. I'm just glad if it is helpful for people. Take care! -Martin
After making the base model, designing the weapon systems was my favorite part. What fun is a mech if it cannot go out and cause destruction? And I appreciate the "permission" to use your designs. It is always polite to ask first.
