Classic Space VTOL
This build started off as a little practice wit SNOT. Since joining MOCpages I have learned that SNOT is not just what you find in a hanky after blowing your nose. I am still new at this, but started off with the canopy and worked from there. I also decided to re-examine my classic space lego and try to see what would be possible limiting myself to old classic Lego pieces as much as possible. It is quite difficult to put a minifig inside, and there is an annoying gap at the underside of the ship, so I am not completely happy with it. I have some ideas on how to do better next time, but should anyone have advice, I am all ears.
About this creation

See, hatch can open and minifig fits inside... Thanks for watching.

Quoting David Roberts I like the way that the engines swivel on this model: especially as they are on the corners, so that it will balance in VTOL mode. I also like how you've stuck to the CS colours and put the big satellite dish on top, which I think is very Classic Space. Perhaps you could get rid of the gap under the winscreens by using jumper plates? (the 1x2 plates with just one stud on top). Nice work.
Thank you for constructive comments. If I close the gap the hatch won't open anymore, so I think the solution is in finding a different way to attach the hatch. Clips would be easiest I think. I'll keep jumper plates in mind for closing gaps resulting from SNOT building.

I would have liked having this as a set in the early '80s! That is so Classic Space! Awesome job!
