About this creation
Category: Three squares a day: Pretty straight forward on this one. Create a life size Lego "meal."
My worthy opponent Annie Corder's entry.
Link to the MocOlympics Homepage
Nothing says "yum" like a dish of Italian pasta. This was definitely a fun category to build in, and presented an abundance of delicious challenges. To say the least, I got lots of practice in circular techniques.

Spaghetti!

A comparative picture showing my creation next to the real thing. Notice the identical placement of the olives and basil. *gasp of astonishment* I went with the pewter plate to add authenticity.

And for desert, chocolate gelato (an Italian ice-cream) topped with a maraschino cherry! For the record, pentagons aren't the easiest shape to play with.
What do Lego hobbit capes and spoons have in common? THIS! Ha! Ha! Ha! (Made that one up myself).

Fork: That other use for the mighty piece separator.

The napkin is twistable! My attempt at making ABS plastic appear cloth-like. Gotta' love them soccer nets!

The Holy Grail *coughs* excuse me...pewter goblet.
WARNING: Slightly disturbing content from here on out. Views expressed by the builder and/or Siggies do not portray the MOCers true feelings for each other (at least as far as I'm concerned).

Uh, Paul? That's my water...

Cody: "GET OUT OF MY BRACKET!!!"
Paul: *drops sword and hits the road*
Unfortunately...

Don't worry Paul, it's only tomato sauce.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I may be the first person in the history of the world to have purposely rubbed a Lego mini-fig in a plate of spaghetti. Quite a claim to fame.

Still hungry?

And now comes the part of the show where we must ask ourselves: to eat or not to eat?

A feast fit for a king (or a jester in my case). Yep, that's me...in all my wondrous maturity. I even debated painting my face half blue.
Well, now I'm down a thousand pieces and my stomach hurts, but I think it was totally worth it!
Thanks for stopping by, best of luck Annie (you're a wonderfully challenging opponent), and Soli Deo Gloria!

GREAT now you made me hungry. But it is epic even if the MOC make me hungry, the Spaghetti look awesome like how you use the tire. The desert is epic AND IT CHOCOLATE wow i butter control my self before i go crazy for chocolate. The Fork look great even i mostly don't eat with a Fork. The Napkin look epic love how it twistable. The Pewter Goblet look awesome if only it was silver. Well i give this a 10 out of 10 and keep MOCing. :) |

Congratulations on advancing Ian. As I said on Annie's build I couldn't call this one - it's lunch vs dinner! Great parts use, I really like the effect offered by using the upside-down tan plates, the flexible napkin and the cutlery. The shot next to the real plate of spaghetti is great. Well done and good luck. |

Wanna know the truth, Ian? From all the categories there were in this round, I said to myself "I wish I got the food one, and I could make spaghetti!" Seriously. That was literally my first thought! xD
This was probably way better than I could have done though. I just want to eat it. :O
P.S, if you couldn't guess yet, spaghetti is my favorite food of all time.
It seems we have something in common, pasta in general is one of my all time favorite foods! I believe it! Thanks for the comment! |
