Underwater: Build us a moc that is set underwater. A simple enough concept but do you have what it takes to take it to the next level? Any "underwater" theme will do.
About this creation
For the 2012 Mocolympics
I am facing TheBricks and his entry Beneath the Tide.

Captain Harmon's Pirate Crew learns the hard way that the exotic Jawcobite should not be disturbed.

The Captain jumps in to save his crew.

And boy do they need saving!

Alexandra the first mate is already down in the deeps.

This guy was both fun and challenging to make.

This is the first part of the build that I thought of. I think that the way blood dissipates into the water is interesting looking and I figured it would be a good way to convey the theme of my category.

After I knew I wanted a pirate in a deadman's float with a gaping wound on his back, I needed a reason for it, so I made my Jacobite. I have had fun with this round and I think The Bricks and I have given our judges a pretty close match.

Soli Deo Gloria

THESE ARE SO HARD TO JUDGE! Oh man I agonised over this one. My vote goes to you mate. Both entries are excellent in different ways and used great techniques equally but I feel your scene has slightly more going on, more action, different points of interest. If I had my way you would both go through to Round 3. Congrats!

Oh man, that is an amazing build! I love the bubble technique for the dude underwater, and your vegetation is excellent! Not to mention the monster is really cool! It looks like it's going to be a close one, but I would vote for ya if I could. ;)

Excellent work on the underwater techniques! The screaming guy's bubble, the beard/hair of the guy diving in, and the alligator plants were all very well-executed. You've got my vote!

Dude! I urgently need to get me hand on some crocodile/ dragon (?) tails for seaweed; they are AWESOME!! The creature looks huge on the thumb but here I saw it was actually Microscale, that was surprise! Well played and good luck with your judges.

Nice build. My favorite photo is where the captain jumps in. The blurriness of the photo, plus the splash effect and the lighting really have an underwater feel. Both build are really good, but IMO the lighting effect on the other one is a pinch better.

this match up is hard to call as both of you took the task directly from the theme..... but by the slightest of margins i am going to give my vote to your opponent as his underwater folliage gives me a better feel of actually being underwater. Good luck with the other judges! Chris
