haha just cant beat classic christmas lights

I used Christmas lights for this one and a few Light-up bricks, too.

Wow! Incredible entries here! Justin, the blending of past in present in your build was delightful; a theme I've rarely seen in city builds like these. From a compositional standpoint, the castle facade nearly doubled the perceived size of your build and made it a pleasure to explore. Your largely studless technique was wonderful as well. Both builds square with the category given wonderfully, but my vote here unfortunately goes to Mark. His build not only contrasted city with nature, rock with sand, and lovely architectural styles, he utilized some impressive parts-repeating techniques and great sunshiny colors. Good luck with the rest of the judges. You really put up a fight!

You obviously worked hard on this creation, I like the 'stairs down to the river' part, it would have been cool if you added a small boat there. Great integration of techniques as well. I must say, it's a pain to vote against you but I must remain objective, my vote goes to your opponent Mark Erickson. Know this; you made a stand ;)

Wonderful athmosphere. I especially like the scenery at night and the minifigs are really cool too. Good luck!

If I were a judge, I'd be stuck. Both you and Mark produced builds of the highest caliber. I can't place one above the other. In reference to your build alone, I like the lighting! And, of course, I'm always a fan of studless builds. Very well done Justin!

Wow Justin! This is stunning! I love how you used the castle theme, and put it into everyday lives! Superb job! The decal immediately stood out for me. I love how you included lights, it made the build look so much better! Good luck to both of you!

This is truly lovely. I think the cafe is adorable and the scene as a whole is just such a beautiful composition. Wonderful, subtle use of colours and textures. I want to shrink down to minifig scale and have a cup of tea there. I didn't see that lighting coming at all! Gorgeous. Well done and good luck.
