MIT Round 1 Finn Tegotash vs Luke Johannesen Thanksgiving Dinner
A family gathers around a large meal for an important purpose: To be thankful (and get to Round 2 of the MIT)
About this creation
Here is my entry for round 1 in the MIT. You can find my opponent's hompepage here. My category was Happy Holidays! The goal was to build a MOC depicting your favorite holiday.

I chose to do a classic thanksgiving dinner scene. It includes a father, grandpa, and grandma. I initially planned to add a mother and baby as well as more table, but was limited by my piece collection. I should also mention that I probably would not have completed this unless my brother had loaned me some bricks.

Here we have Grandma eating sweet potatoes...

And Grandpa consuming mashed potatoes.

I put some small pilgrim figurines on the mantlepiece along with a cornucopia of squash (and a frog).

A group shot of the characters. Please tell me your favorite.

And finally we have my little figurines.

Enjoy!

You just don't see enough miniland scenes! Nice chair and figures (of all scales).

Quoting Yuri Fassio Hmmm... this wasn't easy, you know. one entry was technically interesting, the other colorful and lively. Sorry, I vote for your opponent.
I agree with your overall analysis of our creations. Thank you for judging.

I love the fact that this is in Miniland scale! Not alot of builders deviate from minifig scale, so it's nice to see. However, that wasn't enough to get my vote. I vote for your opponent.

While doing this scene in miniland scale was a nice choice, I think your opponent beat you out on this one. He got my vote. ~ Chris.

Very nice and heartwarming scene. My favorite fig would have to be all of them! Best of luck!

Quoting Garett Smith The brick built figures are cool. But why didn't you just use regular minifigs? Don't get me wrong I like your build. Good luck with the judges.
Thank you, I thought making large-scale figures would be fun. I am glad I went with it for this model, but I have nothing against minifigures and will almost certainly use them frequently in the future
