About this creation
The chief researcher and military coordinator is finally able to relax now that the breakthrough has been achieved.

The sub-light journey to the Central Facility should take several hours, and given the recent excitement, he dozes off to sleep...

"What?"

"Poseidon..."
"Do not speak!"

"The consequences of your work have already been set into motion..."

"It is not what our intentions are for you and your kind. You have deviated from the plan..."

"But it worked! We were able to..."

"SILENCE!!"

"This has become more complex than you can possibly understand!"

LT Kevin Moodster, call sign Strummer, aboard the Battlestar Triton. Having been deceived thus far about the destruction of his own ship, Strummer is resigned to the fact that he will never see his home on Earth again. This strange new Alien race, human or robotic, he is not sure which, is his only hope for survival. He has no options other than acceptance...

Cougar: "Now, Kevin, it's time for you to see... It's our greatest achievement."

Cougar: "It's changed everything for us, and it can for you as well..."

Strummer: "What the...? Frak!!"

Clone: "Hello, Kevin."

Cougars: "It's okay, there's nothing to fear!?"

Cougar: "We love you, Kevin!"

Cougar: "And we always will..."

Strummer: "No...No...It can't be!"

Cougars: "We told you you would soon learn our ways, and now you truly are one of us!"

Strummer: "No! Get away! Aaaahhh!!!!!"

*Gasp* Strummer suddenly catches himself from falling in his dream.

It's been several weeks since Cougar had shown him the resurrection apparatus above the Triton's CIC, but the shock of the revelation has remained with him.

He has been keeping himself occupied aboard the alien vessel, wandering the hallways, and learning his required assignments.

But he never feels quite at home...

Security on ship is tight, with minders observing his every move.

However, at the same time, he is taking mental note of their procedures as well...

One assignment he actually looks forward to is his Pilot's Training Simulator.

In spite of several differences in instrument configuration, the Vipers of the Poseidon Fleet are just as responsive and maneuverable as his own fighter on the Galactica.

The first Simulated Flights were simple launches and landings.

But now he's moved to full combat situations!

With simulated g-forces, multiple targets, and a variety of weapons packages.

Simulation Complete
Strummer: "Awesome!"

Strummer: "So, how'd I do, Chief?"

Chief: "Excellent progress, Lieutenant. We'll see you tomorrow."

Later that day...
A task he dreads is reading his assigned Cultural and Historical Documentation. Not only is he expected to learn about this alien civilization and its past, he will soon be required to follow its every Covenant.

Continuing to hide his disdain for their religious platitudes is one of his biggest challenges. But at least for the time being, his situation has its positive aspects.

Cougar: "Hey, Kevin! How's it going?"

Strummer: "Hey! Oh, not bad...Getting there..."

Cougar: "How was your Pilot's Training?"

Strummer: "A lot more fun than this! I mean, you know..."

Cougar: "Well, keep at it a little longer, Hitomi should be back soon...Then we can all have some fun!"

The saga continues with some great building and photography! I like looking at your pictures and figuring out how you've achieved soem of the effects. The dream sequence is a good example with pools of bright light and rest all dark. I love the flight simulator. It's got all of the elements of a current machine with enough tweaks to let you know that it's for a spacecraft.

Glad to see you returning to the Strummer ‘weft’ which has been moving back and forth between the ‘warp’ strands of the ‘shed’ created by all the plots. Great job at ‘weaving’ all the plot strands together into the ‘fabric’ of this season’s story! But… I’m suspicious of all the flight simulator training? Are they really ever going to free Strummer from his ‘heddle’ bonds to the ‘shaft’? I don’t see them giving him his own fighter or even a ‘shuttle’? As always… questions! As always… you have left us with loose ‘threads’ again! I see more trouble ‘looming’ ahead!
Ah yes, you see my conundrum! But we're back in the normal time frame now, so things will be all tied back together soon enough. Not an action packed episode, obviously, but a necessary bridge between plot lines. Thanks, Topsy! |
