Now exploding off the Chinchilla motors assembly line! With 4 XL motors this can and will move about at a reasonable speed! Aw yeah!!!
About this creation

The front, which retains the classic style of the original Redbird sedan. And so Moctober continues.

Some hood vents, so I can pretend I have heating problems. I don't.

The back is much different, and so are the inner workings. More on that later, though. For now I'll focus your attention on the revamped bumper, the new fastback window and the big, unnecessary spoiler.

Right. Moving on then, the inner workings. Having forgotten why I put in Ricky Comisso's U-joint I tried a Lego brand one. And it broke. That means that now I've broken over 3 U-joints in less than a month. Anyhow, The new design has a simple 1:1 gearing with plenty of torque to move the car instantly, and a new 4-link rear suspension provides enough durability to move the car all the way across my house. The old car couldn't, because with only 1 battery it'd putter out and stop every 4 feet. Also, I've taped up the rear wheels to provide a tiny bit of skidding for fun purposes. The new IR kit means I've room for twice the batteries (and eventually a transmission). All this technical jargon means that the new Redbird hits a top speed of 1.3 miles an hour! (Walking pace)

All that text put into a neat chart. Much nicer. On an unrelated note, would someone kindly explain how to upload video into html? I have a few things I'd like to put on this page, since an RC is kind of boring unless its zipping about.

I'll be here pretended I can do burnouts, you feel free to move along. Perhaps go view a Ferrari 255 GTO or vote for a bird project.
The Vids are up! Not embeded here, but rather on Flickr because I'm rubbish with html. Still, I'm pleased with the accomplishment. (I made a Flickr account, I'm so tech savvy -_-)

That's a lot of power, but I would go with twin 5292 motors instead :) |

Beautifully car, and seems to be very fast, according to

I think those burn outs are far cooler than any bird project or ferrari around S! =D This car is fantastic, I think Aesthetically, it is one of your best, when you add the functionality and personality of the build, and builder, it's a win all across the board! Z |

Awesome car! Reminds me of a 87 Ford Merkur. Just needs a bigger wing on the back :D |

Very nice! Those wheels work really well on your model. I find them much more suitable for most cars due to their slim design. |

Really cool to see this thing in action. I've been wrestling with the embedding video thing for my MOColympics entry, so I know all about that pain. |

Looks great! I think I'll take a Sport coupe fresh from the assembly line... spoilers are a necessary coolness feature, all cars should have them. |

put it on youtube, hit the "share" button and click "embed" and make sure to check the "use old embed code" then copy the code and paste it into the picture/about the creation part of the edit creation, that should work(it's how i did it with my 71 hemi cuda (for some reason mocpages uses old codes)) anyway great moc i love how you can remove the body :) |

I really like the styling of this car. It reminds me of the VW Sirocco that our neighbours had when I was a kid. Theirs wasn't a brilliant red colour like this one though... |

Haha, you make me laugh so much! This is a really neat build, lovely studley approach to a car I think looks like an 80's Japanese thingymajig. The body work is very neatly built and the way you can lift it off the chassis is very nifty or spiffy as you would say. Good job chilla! |

Woo! Welcome to the four XL club! Looks very 80's, but good : ) For videos you can upload to Flickr or YouTube and then click the 'share' button. This gives you the html code and you can copy and paste to MOCpages. 5/5
Thanks! I've wanted to do some smaller vids to practice for a longer one of the next jumbo car. There's just to much stuff to put it all in captions. It gets wordy. |
