My MO entry vs Thoy Bradley in the category 'Get off your butt and start your MO entry!'
About this creation
Well here is my entry against myself to finally start building my MO entry. It has been quite a battle for me as I had this beautiful 1:25 scale model of the house Mel and I will one day build on a piece of land somewhere in the world.

With only 6 days of time remaining I thought it time to stop working on the house, and start my entry. This is the house so far, after this round I will try to add a bit more detail to it, roof texture, furniture, appliances, log burner, carpet patterns etc. Eventually it will have a plot of land with gardens, a verandah with a spa, a double car plus workshop garage and a proper front of the house entrance patio. For now it is all on hold!

Sorry to anyone who thought this was my actual interpretation of 'Melting Scene' haha. You will all have to wait until Sunday to see that :-D ~Thoy

Quoting Henrik Hoexbroe Excellent! Especially the stone-work on the outside. I think the building needs more doors, and maybe you could try with brick-built doors, as the minifig-doors looks too low.
Hi Henrik, thanks for your comment :) I had to agree with your comment. Since then I have broken down the house, I am going to re-build it over time in 1:12 scale, it will give me a bit more room to play around brick-built features, and the walls to scale wont be 400mm thick :) Thanks for your input, it has been appreciated!

If it weren't for the stubs on the roof i would REALLY never have thought it was lego! A great place to live your life and have your kids.

Quoting Rolands Kirpis My wife loves this house. When can we move in?
Thanks, I will try to do this same design in a larger scale at some point, probably 1:12. I have the actual floor layout and orthographic drawings on my PC as this house was originally designed in a CAD program 18 months ago.

Quoting Lego Junkie How sturdy are the walls using the techniques you've got going here? I know I've built things in the past that use the plates'n'rounds method, but they were pretty flimsy. Regardless of how sturdy they are, this is an incredible build!
Thanks. With just plates and rounds I find the walls flimsy too, these walls are in fact pretty strong - I would probably credit that to the bricks that are mottled throughout the walls. The double thickness also lends well to the overall sturdiness. Cheers!

Quoting StoveTop Creator Stone walls and sky lights... very cool! I associate stone walls with houses in the state of Pennsylvania in the USA. I was not aware you had them in NZ? For some reason I think of NZ homes as being stucco? Don't know why... just do! Best of Luck! :)
Thanks, actually you are right, Stucco is about 60% of NZ home exterior cladding. The rock work I have gone for is similar to a common exterior used in the Roxburgh area of NZ. (For anyone wondering, this is the area that a large amount of LOTR filming was done, open rocky plains with winding rivers.) Thanks :)

Quoting Chris Phipson That is just beautiful Thoy! And I really hope that you can make it a reality for you and the missus in the future. Now, that being said... get your lazy (bleep) to work on your MocO build! haha ~ Chris.
Yeah, perhaps my laxed attitude in the face of Mr Baer is early signs of defeat, or simply misguided use of time. All will know in the near enough future anyway. Thanks Chris!

Quoting Deus Otiosus The title made me smile a little. Anyways, cool thing, but the question is - is this the original model of how the house is supposed to look like or was it modeled after finished blueprints?
I've had the blueprints done for around 18 months now, this was more a case of plotting and building the walls.

Stylish house with a handsome exterior. It looks roomy and modern on the inside, but without being too pretentious. I'd buy that house, except that it is a bit empty in the interior.

I thought you were having a bad day when I saw "Thoy Bradley vs Thoy Bradley." I was thinking, "Incorrect title, no link to Blake's homepage, no category description, etc." Funny way to present this. The stone walls of the house looks great too! Now you need a landscape....
