About this creation
An entry into the LOTR Lego contest over at lego.com. This was my first entry into the contest, and I still think it's one of my best LOTR builds to date. It depicts (as you may have noticed :P) Treebeard the Ent, toting the hobbits Merry and Pippin back home to the Shire. However, they stumble (thanks to Pippin's incredible persuasive skillz ^_^) across the charred remains of the edge of Fangorn Forest. Treebeard is ticked off enough to launch an attack with the rest of the ancient Tree-Herders, and takes down Isengard.
This was a very frustrating build. I really did the entire body, arms, and legs over the course of almost a month. Then, one day, everything seemed to fall into place, and his head and face were finished in less than an hour.
A nice side view. I didn't take many pictures, since you were only able to upload a max of five into the contest anyway.

Super cool entry! (Continuing what we were discussing on my entry): Yeah I havent heard anything about the contest and you would have thought by now the results would be out or something! I havent even gotten a magazine yet to see who in the world did win. Since there were so many entries to the contest it must take a while to judge, however I did take the time when the contest closed to go through all 1000 or so entries and had a list of about 40 or so builds that were actually decent/good, original (not just taking a pic of your figs on a TLG set), and relevant and I remember seeing yours :) haha but oh well |
