An unused design from Red Brick Saga #3 - Alien Conquest
About this creation
Sometimes, we make things that don't work perfectly (or otherwise aren't approved by our clients), but we still find them cool. This crop circle, modeled after the LEGO Classic Space logo, is one such example.
At first, it took us a bit of time to wrap our heads around how crop circle shapes are actually created. Here are some very basic sketch models, which are actually the inverse of what a crop circle should be.
In the end, there wasn't that much of a difference between this crop circle and the one seen in the video, but this version still holds a particular spot in our hearts and cornfields.
As someone who works in video/media and uses After Effects, I am very appreciative of your behind the scenes video. Lots of good tips and info there. Great work on a tedious (but fun) assignment.
Marvelous stuff here once again! It's a shame you didn't use the Classic Space crop circle, but the readability issue is understandable. Why your work doesn't receive more traction here on MOCpages is beyond me. It's most inspirational.
A great concept that will be sure to come in handy later on. Thanks for showing your work and the step by step processes in making a great film possible. Some really clever techniques that will come in useful in our own future projects. Keep them coming!
