From Red Brick Saga #2 - Harry Potter

About this creation

Here's the Hogwarts interior that a red 2x4 brick crashes through in episode 2 of our LEGO Red Brick Saga!

This scene originally started out as a much smaller corridor; one that attempted to closely match the storyboards we received from TLG.

We realized quickly that fitting a camera, minifigs, and our hands inside this MOC would be nearly impossible, so we redesigned the scene to take place in a much wider, more open area of Hogwarts castle.

The detailing of the interior was designed to match the exterior of the actual LEGO Hogwarts set, #4842.

As for the paintings in the castle, those were built and animated separately and composited into the scene after main animation was complete.

We even threw a Joseph Ducreux painting in there for good measure.

And of course, like any good brick animated film, the back of the set is a total rainbow warrior.
