A lighty armed but fast & manoeuvrable pod ship from the badlands of Bala II.
About this creation

The year is 2236 A.F. and Wilhelm von Richthofen, the great, great, great god-nephew-in-law (twice removed) of the WW I ace, is a pilot on the wild and lawless world of Bala II. To honour his distant relative, Wilhelm paints his attack pod red.

The pod is armed with a single 30mm pulse cannon but it is capable of amazing aerobatics, thanks to the thrust vectoring from its VTOL engines.

Bala II is a world of mountains and deserts. Wilhelm lands his pod in this wasteland of sand and rocks.

He opens the canopy so that he can head off and find some rock samples for his Mum, who is an expert geologist. In the distance there is a rumbling, whizzing noise and dust cloud...

...The noise is Elke & Jawood, the Blue Brothers. They're rushing across the desert on their high-speed machine, the "Bucking Mule" (that's the polite version!).

These photos were stolen from the testing range and show the Bucking Mule's suspension being tested.

It's not the smoothest ride: hence the name of the vehicle!
MESSAGE STARTS...INCOMING UPDATE...PLEASE SCROLL TO NEXT PHOTO...MESSAGE ENDS

Feedback from the elite vehicle designer Starscream Soundwave has led the Blue Brothers to change the wheels on the "Bucking Mule". This gives it a cleaner look & more motorbike type performance when cornering.

Elke Blue, who always drives, now loves banking the Mule into sharp left turns and dragging his brother through the dirt. Jawood Blue is going to send Starscream Sounwave the cleaning bill for getting the mud off his blue driving suit & helmet!

A sleek and deadly Bounty Hunter's assassination ship lurks in low orbit. Despite being built from "table scrap", it is a fast, dangerous and effective killer. It is armed with a single ship-to-ship homing missile.

Wilhelm von Richthofen has shot down some of the wrong people over the years. They've paid the Bounty Hunter to take revenge! A sensor picks up a signal in the Bounty Hunter's ship. The engines fire up and the ship swoops towards the planet's surface...

...is this the end for the Red Baron...?

...No! The Red Baron lives to fight another day!
Fourth Wall Commentary:
Thanks to Starscream Soundwave for sowing the idea of remodelling the Bucking Mule's Wheels. Many thanks to El Barto ! for the advice on Photoshop and missiles. I went and did something different: sorry! Here's a link to Roy Lichtenstein's original painting.

Thank you for mentioning me! It was unnecessary, but greatly appreciated! :) I prefer the new look of the Bucking Mule too, now unmistakably a bike ;) |

Three for the price of one? Awesome! Great work on all of these, I especially like the second.
Thanks for your comments! I'm trying to build a new spaceship with red & yellow checkered wings. All I've built so far is the wings! Every time I try to build the rest of it, other things happen: hence this collection :) |

Really likin' that Red Baron! Kind of reminds me of a smaller, more agile Slave 1. Great use of those X-Pod lids as well! |

NO!!! The Red Baron turns on his deflector shields and strikes back with a deadly missile! Is this the end of the Bounty Hunter?... Of Course it is!!!
Thanks for your comments! At first I agreed with El Barto ! and the Red Baron was toast. Then I relented and added an extra photo to the MOC. Hope you like it! |

We're you thinking of Maximiian from the Black Hole hen you were building this? The blue bike is a great piece usage exercise.
Knowing you to have an interest in art-history, I thought that I'd let you know that I've added a final photo to this MOC. |

New photos & link to you are now uploaded. The Mule is definitely better as a bike. |

Hahaha! Your Space stuff's the best! Some of your designs remind me of Crimso Giger. You should check his stuff, I surely wouldn't mind seeing your take on the Zorg Empire theme.
Thanks for the comments and recommendation! I've seen some of his already and like the coloured, brick-built sci-fi. I've added some new photos to this MOC. |

Great parts usage here, especially the ADU canopy on the red baron's ship and the pod sides for wheels... puntastic as ever. The bounty hunter ship reminds me slighty in colourscheme and concept of the CAM 130 Cyclops, not sure if that was an inspiration...
I've added some new photos of the Mule, with some changes to the wheels. |

Thanks for your comments! I know exactly what you mean about the bounty hunter ship. The shape & colour came from just putting bricks together but when I saw the result I almost called it the Cyclops after the TTA ship. An improved version of the mule will be out soon. |

Awesome stuff, as usual. Love the blue bike/car thing, and the Red Baron looks cool too :)
'Despite being made from 'table scrap' it is' < LOL
Thanks for your bike/car comment! I've taken the wheels off and turned them around so that the vehicle looks more like a bike. I'll add a new picture, with a link to you, when there's light to do the photo tomorrow. |

I never got to see "The Black Hole" when I was a kid. We used to go to the cinema about once a year usually to see James Bond or Herbie. I suppose I should find it on DVD and complete my education! There is something from Aldous Huxley in the text though. |
