My entry to the MocOlympics depicts a mad scientist creating a portal to another dimension. I at first was only going to build the corridor of the scientist's lab but then I thought it would look better with the alien world on the opposite side. I had to redesign the alien from the portal once and the moon on the alien world three times. Have fun looking!
Close-up on lab corridor.
Lab corridor overview.
Alien world overview.
The mad scientist passing through the portal. What it's supposed to look like is the mad scientist leaning over and looking at the alien but in the picture it looks like he is leaning on the portal.
Close-up on the fish-like aliens. I'm not sure if it's clear but the one alien is jumping out of the lava.
Close-up on the moon.
The wall and the two floors.
The floor of the lab corridor. The groove near the wall is actually not attached what so ever. You can also see how I attached the wall to the floor.
The bottom of the lab corridor's floor. At the top of the floor you can see some average SNOTwork to attach the two floors together.
The alien world floor. The tan is sand and the ripples in the sand are footprints. I hope that answers any questions about the sand.
The bottom of the alien world floor. Those things coming out of the floor are there to give support (If you haven't noticed, the alien floor is two studs above the the lab corridor).
The lab corridor side of the wall.
The alien world side of the wall (Are you getting tired of me calling it the "lab corridor" and the "alien world"? I am).
The scene without figs.
Mad scientist.
Portal device.
Fish-like aliens.
Bird-like alien.
Well, I had fun building this. I hope I will get to round two. Good luck to all the other contestants!
Great MOC! I'm sure you'll make it into the later rounds if you keep building like this. Btw, here that mech I told you I was building. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/340942. See you at Legacy!
