Surfin' USA!
About this creation
2012 MocOlympics

Category: Surfin' USA

Looking at the categories for the first time, several basic ideas came to mind. My first idea for this category was of a nice beach scene, a few surfers in the water, and maybe some underwater scenery with a snorkeller. It would have been cool, and not very challenging. The problem with that is that I'd only be building the "surfin" part of the category, while missing out the USA part. But then I had this idea; a surfer surfing an American flag in the shape of a wave. I knew it could either workout well, or just look like jumbled pile of bricks, but I decided to go ahead with it, and this is what came out.

It's funny how red, white and blue are the colours of freedom, until they're flashing behind you :)

Thanks for running this judges, and good luck to the other contestants!

What can be more patriotic than surfing on a giant waving flag? Good luck in the contest! By the way, I am creating a new MOCpages account. Considering you have added me to your favourite builder list, would you mind adding my new account? You can find it here: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/96414 Thanks

This is some cool stuff here. I love the wave, of course. Very convincing. There are a lot of MOCs that need the intro to tell the viewer what they're looking at, but in this case, not needed. The island is very well conceive, too. Nice job and good luck in the MOCOlympics.
