This is my entry for the 2012 MocOlympics. You can go to the groups homepage here. This is also the first creation I have posted on Mocpages so I am quite excited.
As you can see, I have chosen to build a beach for the Surfin' USA category. Below, you can see my surfer, a rather dashing fellow dressed in US colors who is riding up a large wave (that is not visible in the model).
Not everyone is that dashing, however. Here you can find a lazy person relaxing on his beach towel and a girl building a sand castle (which looks done to me).
Here is a closeup of the lazy dude. I used flexible figure techniques to position his arms. I had built someone similar to this a while ago, so when I saw the contest I thought it would be a good chance to incorporate him in a LEGO® creation. Note, I am sorry that there are some holes and bumps in the beach around him. I was running out of good bricks.
Here is a closeup of my seagull. The design is based on one by Walter Boy. If you did not see my bird before this point, check the main picture.
A fun little image showing the sand castle's construction
Finally, we have a shot of all the characters with accessories. Wake up, sleepy man, it's picture time!
Comments and criticism are welcome (and encouraged).
Sorry for the delay in your MOCpages account being approved. Kelso's on a work trip and I was off for the weekend... Anyway, your account is now approved and you should be able to post without issues. Good luck! ~ Chris.
