“… and up he soared blazing into the air… "
About this creation
“I am SMAUG! I kill when I wish! I am strong, strong, STRONG!...”

These words were really spoken to Bilbo, but I think he could have spoken them to Fili in the same manner had he encountered Fili in his cave.
Knowledge is Power, but so is Possession!

Smaug certainly knew every piece of his treasure, as well as its placement location. And he possessed the most treasured piece of all, the Arkenstone!
“… My armor is like tenfold shields! My teeth like swords! My claws, spears! The shock of my tail, a thunderbolt! My wings, a hurricane! And my breath, death!”

Again, these words were really spoken to Bilbo. But had Bilbo not been along on the Quest, I think Smaug would have spoken them in a boasting manner to Thorin, as Thorin tried to claim the Arkenstone!

Thanks! Well, let's see? I've built about 5-6 dwarves now, but I need to revamp Dwalin. I'd like to redo him first before I start of anymore. :) |

That thing looks like it could shred concrete!
It must be karma or something... because... hint... hint... If all goes well, my entry to Rd 1 of the MO has to do with... hint... hint... shedding the waves! I'm going to assume your comment means you think this dude is pretty gnarly?! :) |

Smaug the tremendous, for sure! Excellent job, Stove. Glad to see so many Lord of the Rings creations coming from you:)
Thanks Justin! May slow down a bit here due to the MO... depending on if I get past round 1. Even so, I'll probably do a lot of viewing and commenting. The MO's a real treat bringing all those talented builders together for a real show! :) |

I think your Dragon could find a perch on my new Castle creation, some where right at the top, only the Myth is, `Beowulf`, one of my knights, will slay it !>.....sorry about that....anyway, very well done |

Kind of petite for a dragon compared to your dwarves, but well-made nonetheless. Nicely done!

So true! I bet one of these photoshopping wizards around here could meld the two! I'm really going to have to get moving in that direction! I've been using a (no-longer-a-secret-now) magnetic hook on my stove top to take all my aerial pix! Last night I recalled my daughter had a magnetic picture board with a cloud background, so I tried to take aerial pix of Smaug using my magnetic hook. But, the magnetism of the board was not strong enough to hold Smaug! :) |

Awesome! The design is cool, but the limbs look really floppy and weak compared to the body. I suggest buffing them up.
Thanks, I'll think about your suggestion. Perhaps the thighs could be buffed up? I don't want to mess with the arms though, and detract from the wings! :) |

I can remember that I sent you the little comment "You should make Smaug!" in one of my earlier comments. I know that it is a hard piece of work to make Smaug, but he turned out perfectly, you found a good way for the design! I love the red-golden look and the unique head design! (5/5)
I believe I replied to your comment with a hint of sorts? He was in the development stage at that time. I've commented on him being comical, but what I didn't say is that it always amazes me how one's mind picture comes through in the build! :) |

This dragon reminds me of a great revamp of the one that came with the Viking sets, and you made it looks very cool! The head looks, fully custom, really great and the rest of the body matches the dragon shape, too!
Yup, fully custom! I have had this idea floating around in my head for almost a year now... didn't know my dragon would be Smaug! Thanks for stopping by! :) |

I really like this version of Smaug – very unique and full of your individual style. I cant wait to read the Hobbit to my kids.
Yes, I see him as a most comical fellow! I read all sorts of things to/with my daughters, but I never, alas, read them the Hobbit. They read it to themselves when they got older, and it was they who got me hooked! :) |

The first thing I thought after see the main picture was: 'Wiiiii!' xD A great MOC, I love how you build Smaug with a small comical idea, or at least that's what I think when I see him (sorry if that wasn't your idea!). I love, again, the head, your head designs are ones of my favourites! Great job, my dear!
Oh, yes, L. A., that WAS my idea! I see him as a very comical character! Glad you noted this... Thanx! :) |

The washing machine certainly is a lonely mountain. My favourite of your LOTR MOCs so far. “His rage passes description-the sort of rage that is only seen when rich folk that have more than they can enjoy suddenly lose something that they have long had but have never before used or wanted”
Lonely mountain indeed! I don't know if he's my #1 favorite, but I do like him alot! You've read Tolkien! :) |
