Under attack by French Cavalry, British Infantry form a Square.
About this creation
A combined British and Spanish Column has been ambushed by French Cuirassiers and Horse Grenadiers. One Battalion has rallied around their colors, but not all have been so lucky, and the French are cutting down any stragglers.
Not really inspired by any particular battle or campaign, but set in the Peninsular War. The main desire behind the MOC was to do something with the majority of my Red Coats, and get one last MOC in before my Leave is over.
^--- The square was actually harder to do than you'd think. I finally got it to the point that I think it works. You'll notice that not all of the soldiers are equipped with BrickArms bayonets. Once upon a time, I had far more bayonets than Red Coats. Now, I'm in desperate need of a resupply.
^---British and Spanish soldiers fleeing from French Cavalry. This MOC was the first time I've had opportunity to use the new two-sided heads. You might recognize the fleeing Red Coat as Jack Sparrow. For the Spanish soldiers, I wanted to do something different than the normal looked most people use for French soldiers, so I gave them blue legs. To a point accurate, I think it does help them stand apart from the French.
^---- More fleeing soldiers, including a member of the 95th Rifles, aka, the Greenjackets. I ran out of Shakos to use on this, so instead all he got was a head wrap. The rifle is from the Royal Guard collectible Mini-figure, as are the Horse Grenadier's Bearskin hats.
