Bio-Cup 2012: Spring Harvester
About this creation
My entry for Round 4 of the Bio-Cup 2012 . It falls into sub-category 3: Combiner titan - A titan made of smaller mocs that can combine into at least two different forms. My entry is a minifig scale mecha, designed for harvesting trees and other resources from planets around the universe. It requires a team of four pilots to control, as it splits into multiple segments to respond to the few situations that a giant mecha isn't the answer. These segments can then combine into a giant tank form which, alongside a giant mecha, is usually a fairly good response to any situation that might be encountered while harvesting a planet.

Here's a link to my opponent's entry (Toa Likus)

As usual, proper pictures will be up soon, so this picture is just to show that I've made a complete entry as of the final hour. The sheer weight and size of this thing makes it hard for speedy photography...

Edit: While I work on editing them, judgable photos are up:

Components:

The feet are comprised of two mono-tread Foliage Deintensifiers, designed to carve paths out of forests. Steering is not an option and the drivers are unable to see where they're going, but with their Heavy-Duty Obstacle Destabilizers mounted towards their path, steering and visibility are not a requirement.

These Mineco Mobile Notification Boards act as organization markers during a mining operation, and display helpful and informative information to any locals via holigraphic displays.

Both the mecha and tank forms are primarily controlled by this smaller mecha, which has a much higher mobility level thanks to its dual shoulder boosters and relatively lightweight form.

The legs of the mecha are made from two Automated Tactical Machine drones, which fly at low altitude around a targeted planet, providing reconnaissance information and air-support towards particularly stubborn or hostile resources.

The final module is the Mineco Long-Range Resource Manager, which is equipped with all-terrain treads and a high-power railgun. LRRM operators typically report high levels of job satisfaction.

All of these modules are capable of transforming into a mecha, and the following tank:

Awesome entry. Great colors and look. The alternative form is also really great, and the pilot was the icing on the cake. My vote is yours.
