Red Tide the Transforming Terror - Bio Cup 2012 - R4 - vs Nathan Ingerson
"RED TIDE, RED TIDE, RED TIDE..." -Red Tide
About this creation
Allow me to introduce you: Red Tide! My transforming giant for the Bio Cup 2012.

Let us start with the vehicle mode(s): A transport, an aircraft carrier and a submarine.

The transport is designed to carry heavy loads of troops and cargo. Due to its size, it is equipped with thrusters to compell movement with the heavy load. The front of the vehicle is heavily armored and designed to flip over enemy ships.

Le flip of a ship.

The submarine is the devastation of the depths. Having weapons for both underwater and surface battles, it can handle both strategical and rushing tactics in battle.

The weaponry of surface battling.

The aircraft carrier is a compact one. It is quite agile for its size and equipped with a heavy turret to also defend itself as well as cause major damage. 3 seeker drones accompany the carrier, defending it and scanning surrounding waters.

The carrier in action. Turret turning and a seeker drone taking off.

2 additional seeker drones are held inside the ship, and can take off directly from there due to their vertical hovering ability.

The 3 seeker drones.

"RED TIDE, UNITE!!!"

Ta-dah! A Super BattleCarrier! Red Tide's most powerful vehicle form! Also the form used in space travel.

The super battlecarrier in action.

"RED TIDE, TRANSFORM!!!"

Split the rear section of the ship and bring the sides forward.

Flip the sides back and rotate the whole rear section around.

Straighten the rear section.

Fold in all the excess and open the feet.

Lift the central section...

...turn it around and push it back in.

Come to the front of the ship...

...and split it open...

...turning both sides around.

Rotate the arms, bend the elbows and extend the fists.

Finally, lift up the head.

"RED TIDE, TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE!"

"RED TIDE READY TO FIGHT!"

"RED TIDE SAYS GOODBYE!"

Yup, it's finally here. I really liked this build, I honestly did. I had a lot of fiddling with my time due to school, but I got around to finish him in time. He measures quite precisely 45cm tall and possesses a fair posability, as well as strong joints. I had to scrap quite a few mocs to free up enough ball joints to finish him. I could've shown more poses for him, but as I took pictures outside, the weather was a tad too windy for him to stay up in more complex stances.

Making this guy transform was not too hard. I don't think it's wrong but I followed the model of Tidal Wave from transformers Energon and Armada, but tweaked the build to suit my own style, aswell as gave him more posability than the original toy. I kind of resolved to this choice, as I've had some previous experimenting with transforming and it's really hard and takes a long time, so there was no way I could've come up with a completely new transformation in 20 days, plus keep it aesthetically appealing with the time I had.

As for the Bio Cup, my opponent is Nathan Ingerson with his titan ERIDANUS. The category was a transforming titan. I wish you good luck Nathan, because this really is a battle of the titans.

Thanks for watching and ratings are really appreciated =)

My oh my, this is exquiste! Not only does this transforms, but it is also a combiner! And the fact that it looks and functions so well in all forms it's quite an achievement! Congratulations my friend, you've got my well deserved vote!

Veyr nice. Although the chest is a bit awkward in robot form, it still looks good and the transformation is pretty cool. I vote for you here.

Yikes, I'm not sure Nathan's matches with this. The Robot modes seem fairly equal, but your vehicle modes are superior. I wish luck to both of you, although it seems this may be Nathan's last round. :/

Quoting Terilis the Dark Angel I would not be surprised if this became one of the most popular mocs on the pages. This is increadible, kudos to you.
I definitely wouldn't mind if this became one of my top rated mocs. Thanks for the compliment =)

This is a response to all the modes.- Not only did you create a transforming titan, but a three sectioned one as well with each on also having the ability to be separate at the same time?! As far as a transforming one this is the greatest one that I have ever seen! EPICNESS!!!!!

Incredible work! I certainly like this one more than Nathan's (His one WAS excellent too, though). I really hope You win!

I thought you were going to have a hard time trying to match Nathan... And now HE's the one who will have a hard time! Your entry is amazing, build a titan transformer is hard, and you have build a TRIPLE transformer titan. I tip my tophat, master. Good luck.

AMAZING!!! Being a transformers builder, I'm loving the design, though it is heavily based off of tidal wave. Great work!

JUst a rather cool mech! I really love the fact you took Tidal Wave and made him a Bionicle. Now make a Megatron/Galvatron for him to combine with :P

Just fantastic how all the vehicles look like vehicles and the titan looks like a titan, and how complex and complicated the transformation is! Good luck in the Bio-Cup!

Great guacamole! He's massive! I like how you used the old "Minicon Combiners" gimmick, that was honestly one of favorite thing about Tranformers. It's hilarious that you and Nathan used almost exactly the same armor and joint parts XD
