Night has fallen on the museum...the museum containing the largest diamond in the world. Two thieves do their best to avoid disturbing the peace, their eyes on the diamond. They double-check their plans and their equipment for what will be the greatest robbery in the history of the world... What do they do not realize, however, is the presence of two guards, one armed with a high-power rifle... ...the other with a 12-gauge shotgun. Neither duo knows the other exists, yet tonight a great battle will ensue...
Yup, so there's another attempt at dramatic writing. Hopefully this turns out better than some of my other takes. Here's your average overview shot.
Second-floor conference room. This was based on a room in the first part of Sacretis, created by one of my favorite builders, Eric Mickle.
This MOC is packed with tributes to my favorite builders. Here is my attempt at recreating Rogue Spartan (since I know him in real life) as a guard. Sorry you had to look so cowardly, Nick!
A statue of Kelso's buddy icon. It didn't turn out quite right since I don't have silver armor.
A clone trooper bust. This is for my friend, Captain Stryke, who left MOCpages (and LEGO) a few months ago.
This is a blank statue. It's blank because Ian Michaels, another one of my friends, wasn't on MOCpages long enough for me to even sort of know him.
There in the back is a mini-scale tribute to Nannan Z. It's an attempt at a micro version of his most recent creation, The Boss. I also know Mastermind in real life, so the second guard is another attempt at a sig-fig.
Tribute to Eric Mickle/Mark Kelso. With the Eye of Chaos and Eric mass-producing SHIP's, I figured, why not? I also wanted to make a museum with a tribute to all 15 people on favorite builders list, but that's a different MOC for a different time...
Another look at the diamond. Enclosed in some sort of as-close-as-you-can-get-to indestructible safe, and a computer opposite for the password in.
A flowerpot on the second floor. I couldn't resist squeezing in a few more details.
Another look at the thieves. The one on the left is fixing a silencer on his SMG, while the other guy makes sure they're clear.
Oh, I almost forgot! Here's a tribute to ACPin, the greatest SW builder of all time. it's a battle droid, of course. :)
Quick detail shot. I managed to make myself look stupid here; you can see Darth Vader's head turned half around. Oops.
And speaking of details, I included a little lamp on both sides of the MOC. Even though giant fluorescent tubes are much more popular in commercial buildings...whatever...
So here's how I imagine the battle would play out. The thieves go to hack the computer (which would allow easy access into the safe)...
...Guard Matthew hears the commotion, rounds the corner, and blows up the hacker with his shotgun...
...The other burglar returns fire with his SMG and kills Matthew...
...And Nick snipes the last man with his rifle.
See if you can find all the tributes!
1.) Statue for Kelso
2.) Statue for Ian
3.) Ship for Eric/Kelso
4.) Ship for Nannan
5.) Bust for Stryke
6.) Battle Droid for ACPin
There's also a skull hidden somewhere like Eric has been doing in his more recent MOC's. Good luck to the other contestants, and don't forget to rate & comment! :)
I love that the displays in the museum are mini tributes (my favorite is the Boss) and that you gave the MOC a small story. A few of the pictures were a bit dark but other than that this is brilliant! Good luck in the contest!
