St Charlottes Hopsital is one of the busiest in the region, its Emergency Department can see as many as 50,000 patients a year, often over 200 a day, as many as 10 of these are trauma red calls.
About this creation
Currently the departments dated converted trauma room is at capacity nearly all the time, in the new plans, the trauma room and the existing 4 bed majors / recuss room will be combined into a new 4 bay trauma centre, with a commitment to invest in a second full trauma team on duty 24/7

the current room awaiting a patient.
