Here's my entry to the LoTR contest on lego. Instead of doing the typical scenes that everybody does and using the LoTR minifigs for it, I decided to do something a little different and I noticed that of all the entries, nobody has done the part where the Ring is taken from the bog, and that scene is shown in almost every movie at least a couple times...And instead of doing it in minifigure size, I decided to do it in somewhat real size. So enjoy! ( I think you can figure out whats going on so I wont comment under the photos)

Very good and it sucks that you didn't win. But the contests that LEGO holds are mostly for advertisement for their prime marketing targets - kids. I wouldn't get too mad at LEGO or be too disappointed if I were you.

Well I'd like to inform everyone that I did not win the contest or receive any prize whatsoever. I'd also like to point out that most of the builds that did win something were merely the LoTR sets just put on a baseplate with some random extra pieces. Blake Baer's Amon Hen was the only build I recognized out of anyone on Mocpages of the winners. And his came as a top ten instead of the grand prize. I am not saying mine is better than anyone else's, however I feel like I took more time and effort than most of those who won. Extremely disappointed in Lego right now. |

Too true... I've heard neither heads nor tails of who won that contest. I suppose that means neither of us did :P |

Inspired! This is great in many ways, but what's most impressive is that you had the idea in the first place. Most people would stick to minifigures like glue (myself included) but you had the courage to branch out, and were rewarded for it. Amazing MOC!
Thanks! Yeah it was a fun, quick build but the only reward so far has been likes! |

This is really neat! Doing a life size creation instead of minifig scale will definitely make your creation stand out. Good luck in the contest! |
