The libra-class destroyer EFS Eclipse is a top of the line vessel in the earth force fleet.

Armament

Several advances in weapons-tech lead to less energy consumption and a better targettingsystem, making it possible to build railguns which are smaller than the big, hull-integrated guns on the aries-class.
The ship-to-ship railguns of the libra-class are able to rotate, making it easier to aim at enemy ships. The kinetic energy of a hitting round from these guns is devastating for any kind of vessel.

Eclipse is equipped with 2 mine throwers

The torpedo launchers of the libra class can rotate in different directions for better targetting. It delivers 25% more firepower than on the aries-class.

The libra-class is equipped with the new advanced particle cannons (PC-X). Each cannon has the energy output of 3 standard particle canons. The capability to provide enough power to these beasts can only be found on libra class destroyers. Current research efforts concentrate on lowering the energy-consuption of the PC-X, so they can be installed on older ships as well.
Besides the above shown weapons, Eclipse is equipped with an MK3 Argos defense-and-assault-grid. The Argos-system consists of turbo-lasers and interceptors throughout the ships hull, and a system for electronic warfare, like the Artemis-System on the capricorn-class.
Hangar bays
Libra-class features two hangar bays, which can be adjusted for different vessels and mission requirements. The Eclipse is fittet with a hangar for a squadron of 9 bombers on the one side and a hangar for 2 nighthawk-transporter on the other side. Unlike the docking ports on the aries-class, the hangar bays on the Libras can be closed and preasurized to service and maintaine the docked vessels.

Bombers

The Nighthawk Transport Vessel was designed, after Earth Force saw the need to improve their abilities for secret strike operations. Therefore the nighthawks have limited steatlth ability. Their overall design is a comprimise to reach two goals with one vessel: recon-ops in enemy-territory and the ability to take commando units and equipment (such as ground vehicles) to mission points without beeing seen. Eclipse has two Nighthawks on board, nicknamed Joker and The Thief.

I love your style, and that you put so much into the story behind these ships. Great builds like this deserve a good story. The design of this one is fantastic; in keeping with the other ships, but showing a significant advance. Those bombers are awesome! |

Both of these ships are epic, but together they really create a powerful vibe. Keep accumulating these ships and when you have the whole fleet built it will really be a crowd pleaser. Are you going to take these ships to any shows? I strongly encourage you to do so. Attack! |

I also like the German flag in the front, if that was your intention.
I was wondering, if anyone would notice that ^^ Yes, it's the german flag, since I'm from Germany. The flag happend by coincidence while I was building the ship in the LDD. I liked it, and so it remained.
For the EFS it has no meaning at all.
And thanks for your nice comments on the ships, guys |

Very well done. I like the shape you have going here. Looks like you could find it on a video game. The hidden bays are a nice touch. I also like the German flag in the front, if that was your intention. You definitely have a signature style about your ships that I'm really enjoying. |
