This is a Lego Generation 1 Transformer Sideswipe - Lamborghini with mini figure scale and it is fully transformable into robot type.
About this creation
Hello everyone! I am a Lego fan from Hong Kong and this is my first article posted onto this webpage. I have previously issued some other G1 transformer creations in one of the Hong Kong local lego webpage. Below links are some of the highlights, but I am going to put them all onto this MOCpage one by one later on since I have made a bit of the modification on it. Hope we can share the idea of building this kind of fantastic mecha theme.
This time I used 7 stud wide as the overall width of the car. It is a bit difficult to handle the transformation with this width. The height of the car is more or less close to the mini figure. The windscreen is made up with the black slope and wedge bricks instead of using the ordinary transparent windscreen produced by lego company. However, there is a spare space to store the head of the driver within it, so that the driver can be fitted into the car.
Rear spoiler installed at the back, and there is a pair of muffler at the end bottom.
Roof can be opened in order to replace the car doors since the car doors are fixed together with the robot arms due to the transformation issue. There is an interior with driver seat and dash board attached with the top part.
Mini figure is fitted into the driver seat.
Another version of a Lamborghini - Red Alert from fire services
Full of details from the bottom view and you can see the rear wheels are connected with the chasis in different way, so that it remains space for the extractable mechanism of the robot legs.
Start to transform now!
First, pull out both sides of the car door area. Split the back of the car into two.
Pull out the back of the car slowly.
The extractable mechanism of the leg is made up of a bar and a clip into a sliding system.
It turns into a foot shape.
Stand on position.
It uses few different parts as turnable parts to make up the chasis so that it can be transformed into the robot chest.
The head start to turns out.
The arms transformation are done.
The final step is to adjust the turnable parts of the chest into the optimal position. Then close the part of the robot back.
Transformation is completed!
With cannon and rifle. The robot type carries the joints that a human being should has therefore it is quite poseable.
Red Alert in robot mode.
Wheeljack is on the left and it is fully transformable.
Wow, this one is awesome! It's not only one of the best 7-wides Countachs I've seen, it's also a working Transformer! Great job! :-)) It's like another kick in the a** for the poor Hasbro Kre-o designers which weren't able (or allowed) to design transforming brick Transformers...
A 7w Lamborghini Countach? Never heard of that! As a Transformer? Unbelievable! - Would be very glad if you added this to the 7w Cars Group, will send you an invitation. - Btw. you should add your MOCs to some groups to get more attention. There will be much more attention, I am quite sure.
your sideswipe is really awesome, and it can hold a minifig inside!!! i've check your other works on minifigs.net and all your legoformers are really impressive. i'll be happy if you check my works: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/48706
Very nice! It's great that you were able to pull this off on minifig scale, which still fits one as well. It looks quite authentic too. I created my own interpretation of G1 Sideswipe on a much bigger scale a while ago. Building transformers is quite challenging and you did a good job!
