This is my newest MOC Palladinís Outpost. I took a few days off of Barad Dur (because I have a cold and I couldnít get a shape to work out) and so yesterday I created this. At first it was just going to be a practice of some techniques that I picked up making BD, but then it turned out fairly well, so I decided to upload it. This shot is just a basic overview.
This is the stable/pen area. Itís got noble steeds and lowly farm animals.I like how the fencing and the roof turned out. And yes, that minifig is getting ready to go parkour off that roof and around the fortress.
The blacksmith, forging a shiny dagger for one of the knightís quests. The Idea for the forge is Martin Geistefeldt's.
The upstairs bedroom in the blacksmithís house. The bed turned out fairly well, the bedside tables, not so much. And the table isnít too bad either. I left most of the interiors blank because I was getting bored of making the same furniture.
One side of the blacksmithís shop. You can see the different suits of armor sitting on the wooden dummies. I love the little armor mannequins.
This is the other half of the shop. A few poorly put together weapon racks. But at least everything is 15% off today!
This is the castle keep. This is where the king stays when he passes through this part of the country. Its three stories, which is kinda annoying, but I think the roofs all turned out ok. Also notice the intimidating guard posted next to the door. Scary, right?
This is from the second story of the keep. I left the top two floors unfurnished for now, but you can see that there is a cool balcony from the kingís bed chamberís that looks out over the chapel. Separation of church and religion, I think not.
Down to the first floor of the keep. This is a fairly boring reception area. A couch and a suit of armor.
Hereís the king sitting on his throne. Pretty boring. Kinda lame. But it filled some space.
Here is a good shot of the church, where a knight is just about to go listen to a sermon.
Here is the balcony from the kingís room. It turned out pretty good in my opinion, although it is a little choppy
This picture has three things in it: 1)a top down view of the church. 2) another view of that balcony. 3)a picture demonstrating my learning how hard it is to take pictures of the inside of a two story church.
A guy taking communion, last minute stretch for some details. Also a good shot of the pews.
This knight is doing well. Although my pun isnít.
Nasty orcses are getting beheaded by the good paladins. I loved all the blood in the Brick Testament, so this opportunity just couldnít be passed up.
This is a relief that just kinda happened on the front of the great hall. Kinda epic, so I left it.
This is the Great Hall. Although since the paladins are so busy saving the world, they donít have time to feast. I certainly didnít neglect to fill it because Iím lazy. Also since Iím on the subject, that guard is being lazy and just chilling in the shade.
Hello up there! Yes, that red circle is around the brick count. Yes! It does say 4455 bricks. Yes, that is a lot for a small castle build. Hey, watch out for that arroÖ.! (walk away silently)
Oh no! a paladin has been injured in battle. The Doc is about to shoot him up and amputate.
Ted and Todd, the Toddle twins. They sell food to the knights. Right now Ted is cooking up a fish, or is that Todd?
What, leaving so soon? I declare it unholy, paladins attack!!!!
A birdís eye view. Donít hate all the open space, I tried to assemble an army, but LDD kept crashing. So after five tries I just rearranged some people to fill some space.
Another boring shot capturing the highlights of this quaint fortress. Thanks for taking the time to sit through like 25 pictures.
Quoting Martin Geistefeldt
Good work! Nice shape, but somehow it looks a bit plain, some more little details and colours would be great...oh and the idea for the blacksmith was mine ^^
thanks.I kinda wanted this one to be plain and refined, but I will certainly not hold back in my next model. Awesome, now I can quit searching across the entire website and give you the credit you deserve. I've redone the forge a bit for my next MOC, but it is still very similar. I'm just having trouble finding an anvil design that I like.
@Yaron Dori, no I will probably never build this one. it is too big, and not explosive enough. I have one coming up that I might try to build, but unfortunately if its going to be epic enough to actually build, it will be too big to be very affordable. and this one actually contains pieces that don't exist in the colors I used.
@stewart, I would love if I could afford to PAB it, but I doubt that it would really be practical. I am in the process of uploading it to the website though, so if you want to take a crack at it you are certainly welcome to.
