About this creation
Here is my latest creation, the Lamborghini Aventador. I've wanted to build the Aventador last year but I wasn't brave enough or I doubt I even had the skills. But now, I think I do, so I decided to try another attempt, and the result was succesful. It started off with an idea for the headlights, I liked it so much that I decided to continue. I've been building this for 3 weeks and many things were changed to be more accurate. The changes during the build were mostly suggested by my brother. He suggested that I should use the flexitubes to create the curvy-ish windshield and he told me to change many other small details that made it look better. So, credit goes to him.
The model features posable windshield wipers and openable engine cover. Sorry I couldn't get any pictures of the posed wipers. The model is 16 studs wide and 39 studs long. I like my Aventador and I'm proud of myself for building such a hard car. I hope you like it too! :D Scroll down and have a look.

Roof off, so that I can take pictures of the interior.

Aventador J Roadster? Is that you? :P

Here's the picture of the interior with black and red colour scheme.

Another shot.

Dashboard, oversized red start button. You can see the pedals from here. Also check out my paddle shifters! A new technique I thought of. It's made out of two steering wheels. the one behind is a racing wheel.

Engine cover open! I used a new(?) hinge technique, you have to pull it up and then you flip it up a bit to get a good view inside.

Rear shot with the cover open, it need support as it can't stay up on its own.

You can see the engine and the X-bars across, honestly I don't know what they are for...

Here's a closer shot of the 6.5 V12 engine replica. You can notice that the engine is abit offset, like the real thing. And I used official Lego Lamborghini stickers for the engine. :)

Arsty shot.

Extra picture. Remember this? It's one of the first leaked photos of the Aventador! But recreated into Lego. ;)

Wow, Dohoon, just wow! When I first saw the real Aventador, I didn't like it that much, as in my eyes it looked like a overly pimped crossbread between Gallardo, Murciélago and Reventon - or, to sum it up, it wasn't something innovative, new, fresh. Anyway, my opinion changed when I see your interpretation. It just makes me love the Aventador! You pinned the design right on... and you used some lots of innovations like the Technic soft axles for the windscreen... I consider to borrow this very clever solution. It's just perfect as the whole car. Best wishes to you, keep on the good work and please apologize I didn't comment on all your new stuff. I had to take a pause and to comment on every single car people built meanwhile is utopic. Greets, Jens |

Very impressive! I love every aspect of the build. Love it! And, just FYI, the crossbars over the engine are to protect it in case of an accident. Otherwise, struck from behind, parts of the engine could be compressed, rendering the entire engine useless. Or in any other impacts from the side or front if the car is going fast enough. It just keeps the space around the engine from collapsing. And that would save the car from a very expensive replacement. Anyways, great job! |

Thought I already commented?! Darn WiFi on campside ;-) But it looks gorgeous! The small picture of it on the most popular MOC's board makes it almost look like the real one. And I love the padelshift, I never-ever thought about that! I have seen a lot of great Aventadors, but this one, #1! More then awesome job, keep it up! |

This is really great, Dohoon. I adore the shaping - you're the first to capture them properly. The headlight idea is very cool too. The flappy paddle gearbox is a very cool idea too. Have you seen Ryan Link's version of it? I believe he used a viking horn instead, so it's a bit closer to the steering wheel, more accurate in my opinion. This is his: http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=310686&id=/user_images/17741/1329851030m The only thing on this that I'm not fond of is the way the engine cover opens. I think it should open wider. Also re-upload the pictures in large. ;-) You've made me want to build my own. Do you mind if I borrow so areas if I do (I'll give you credit of course)? 5/5 -LB Jr.
Thanks for the comment, LB Jr! I agree that Ryan Link has done a more accurate paddle shifters and you may borrow some of my ideas. Hope you do well! :)
And for the people who suggest I should re-upload the pictures larger... I will do it. Thanks for all your nice comments! |
