Scouting the area of Racta-Minus in search of trails to the base of the Cult of Thanatos, The Toa Racta found a Cult footsoilder threatening a Matoran. The Matoran admitted that he had a mask that lead to something known as...The Gate!

Benu: This is it? This is the "Gate" where you mask leads to?
Matoran: That is correct.
Leka: But... It's a dead end!
Galika: I'm still willing to trust him. Someone would want something as powerful as this to be hidden from greedy eyes...
Parah: Glad your so confident, sis. Shame you're on your own.
Korapa: Ever the soul of tact and diplomacy, eh Parah?
Parah: Well sorry if I don't assume every cliff face is the most powerful thing on the planet!
Scorpian: You fools! You joke when you have such power in your hands! Why don't you give it to someone who actually seeks to use it?!
Onika: Keep dreaming. Anyway, brave Matoran, how do we get in?
Matoran: Simple. The Gate will recognise the key.
The Matoran holds out the Avohkii, as a invisible, unimaginable force scans the mask. The force recognises the mask.
As a response to the mask, a flash of white light ignites infront of the wall. From it rises a pillar. It has a stone, cold, lifeless face pearched on the top of the pillar. It's mouth is a round black hole. About the same size as the connector piece on the inside of the mask.
Matoran: See? Now do you believe me?
As the mask is placed the pillar. It begins to glow on the inside. The heat is so intence, that the Toa, standing about a yard away can feel it on their faces. The Mask seems to shift under the heat. Then, the shifting ceases, but the glowing intensifies.
Then. What seemed like a cliff suddenly appears to the Toa as a Door. They saw it as a cliff, but thought they saw it as a door the whole time. The acient door creeks as the colossal gate opens, alowing a sliver of white light. Just enough for a Toa to sneak through.
Matoran: This is not The Gate. Mearley the threshold to the real thing. Come on.

Matoran: This is a labarynth. This is one of the many housings of a segment of The Gate. 
Nobody knows just how big this place is.
Korapa: Wow, this place is a wreak...
Matoran: The Great beings built a mini City around the Gate. If it wasn't contained, Racta Magna would've been destroyed Centries ago.
And there it is. The Gate is a rip in the fabric of the universe. It leads from the world of the living to a baran wasteland where billions upon billions of lost souls lay, wishing for release.
Scorpian: I heared that anyone who enters The Gate will die.
Matoran: The Gate only permits dead souls to enter the gate. But instead of rejecting Live ones, The Gate just sucks the life force out of them, killing them...
...But if you don't believe me, you should see for yourself!
Scorpian: NOOO! AAAAHHHH!
Onika: You... Killed him!
"Matoran": How observant!
Benu: But you're a Matoran!
"Matoran": Oh?
Not so. You shall find that I am far more!
Parah: What's happening?!
Onika: I think the "Matoran" is revealing his true form!
Ah, Toa Onika... Always the first to notice the important things...
...You should all recognise me by now, since you are so desparate to antagonise me...
...But none can Antagonise Thanatos!!
For, you see, I needed to bring a Toa with me, so that the Gate would permit my entrance. Now, your worries or attacks are trivial to me. For I will acheve my true purpose here!
Benu: What, to take over the world? Well, we will stop you!!
Thanatos: FOOLISH YOUNG PUP! If I wanted to take over the world, I would have done it already! I am a God!
Never the less, Your concerns are Trivial to me...
???: HALT.
Thanatos: Who?
Guardian: I. GUARDIAN. STATE. BUSINESS.
Thanatos: I suspected that there would be a Guardian of the Gate.
But you are mearly a robot. I am a God!
Guardian: INTENTION. UNKNOWN. PRESUMED. HOSTILE.
EVASIVE. ACTION. TAKEN.
AAARRGGHH!
The macabre half God falls to the ground, knocking over Toa. The Guardian's heat ray would have killed any normal being, whilst stunning Immortals.
Onika: RUN!! We'll be next!!
The Toa Run. Without looking back. All six make it through the gate, out into the open world. Behind them, a defeated Thanatos rises to his feet.
Thanatos: Remember my face, robot. And fear it. When I return, your whole world will be at stake!
With a flash of flame, the great beast disapears. The Guardian looks on, not taking in Thanatos's threat. To the Guardian, this has been mearly another attack repulsed.

Thanatos: We must rethink our plan! There remains an obsticle!
Nebulus: You have shedded your Matoran guise. Did the plan sucseed?
Thanatos: You fool! Of course not! If it had, we would not be on this planet!
XPlode: You Lied! You said the plan was foolproof!
Thanatos: you have courage to talk to me like that, XPlode...
There was one minor error. An error to be corrected. The next time, I shall not fail!
