The Race Against Time Itself: the Synopsis (MM 3/3)
The last installment of My MOCversary Mayhem, and boy is it a doozy. Even MORE upgrades for Aridike and the conclusion of my last year's ambition: The Race Against Time Itself.
About this creation
Well. It's an unfortunate circumstance, but I have declared "The Race Against Time Itself" a work which I will never finish in its fullest. Instead, as the last portion of my MOCversary, I have decided to post a full synopsis of the events of TRATI.

The finished 11 chapters can be found Here on my Deviant Art Account, which I may close some time in the future. Well, I will at least stop posting there (not like I do anymore, anyway...).

After a long series of trials, Aridike (229) had proved his worth and loyalty to gain access to the Vahi, the legendary Mask of Time, and with it, the ability to travel back in time to fulfill the Paradox of his entry into Toa-hood. However, as revealed by his future self, that action did not complete the paradox in full. This led Aridike to journey around the planet in search of answers. At the start of TRATI, Aridike had been summoned by Artakha with urgent news.

At a similar time, the Fourth experienced a disruption in the stability of the Halls of Time. The instability was the result of the return of the First, the Aridike who created the Halls of Time itself, and the Staff of Time to keep it secure, sacrificing himself in the process. As such, there was a great question as to how he is alive. He was weak and injured and tells the Fourth there is a great threat to the Halls looming.

The threat is Voporak, whom the First says is planning, in his future, to invade the Halls for its Time Energy. The First also insists that a Temporally Altered being, such as Voporak, must be captured to restore the First's powers and health, eliminating two birds with one stone, so it seems.

The Fourth therefore calls upon Aridike 229 to fetch 'a second Vahi,' and is successful in the ulterior mission of luring Voporak into the Halls of Time, where he is captured and drained of his powers. The Hand of Voporak is created as a result.

The First, however, had lied. It was not Voporak that was a danger to the Halls; it was Aridike 229. Voporak's escape was just the means by which Aridike endangers the Halls of Time. The First's linear chronology is as follows:

The First makes the Halls of Time to support the Paradox of Time Travel and link the Temporal Multiverse, and the Staff of Time to support the Halls, being is destroyed in appearance. Really, he was drawn to the power of the Vahi and remained there as it's active spirit; this is how the true power of the Vahi is kept to a single Root, or timeline within the Temporal Multiverse, at a time. At Aridike's (229) use of the Vahi, the First is reborn in the form of Aridike's Future Self, so to speak. Aridike's Future is skewed for him to become the First instead of the Future in which he went back in Time to teach himself. That future was overwritten by the First, causing an instable Paradox.

This Paradox weaves over itself yet again when the First, having overwritten Future-Aridike as himself, goes back to his past (Aridike 229's Present) to interfere further and help gather other Temporal Variants, etc.

Unforeseen by the Aridike in his future, Voporak actually becomes a legitimate threat to the Halls of Time. Voporak, drained of his powers, becomes a vacuum of Time Energy and fractures a portion of the Halls, rendering a Void across the timelines

And So the final Battle Begins. Aridike 229, 503, 519, 547 and 564, as well as the First, Fourth and Seventh, make attack against Voporak, all the while as he vacuumes in more Time Energy in his rage.

In the insuing chaos, Aridike was grabbed by Voporak. As poetic justice, Voporak ripped off Aridike's own arm as payment for his hand. The First and the Seventh helped Aridike to safety as the others prepared the Protodermis Cage.

Without the Seventh, the Protodermis Cage could not be completed, however. Voporak was stopped, however, thanks to the Fourth using the Staff of Time as an element towards the Cage, destroying the Staff in the process, and died as a result.

The Void, however, must be closed to secure the Halls by the use of all of the remaining Artifacts of Time: The Vahi, the Sword of Time, the Hand of Voporak, and the Toa of Time, that is, The First himself, to wield them. But it wasn't the First who wielded these artifacts, technically. It was Aridike 229, who was destined to BE the First due to the First's overwriting of Aridike's history, who was to close the Void.

((The next few pictures show the Hand of Voporak in use.))

((Aridike uses the Hand as a substitute, well, Hand.))

((The Hand adapted itself to fit Aridike's likeness))

With the combined powers of the Vahi, the Hand of Voporak, and the Sword of Time, that is, the sword given to Aridike by the First, and with Aridike to weild them, the First told Aridike that he was to release all of his Time Energy and support the Halls of Time as he had in the past.

This was the First's plan all along. Lure a Temporal Variant to seek Voporak, contain Voporak, and then let the Temporal Variant take the fall to save the Halls of Time and be trapped in the Vahi instead of the First having to sacrifice himself yet again. But Aridike refused. He was not going to die for the sake of the First. Instead, he stabbed the First and flung him and the Sword of Time into the Void, collapsing the entirety of the event horizon. The First was no more, erased from history.

The Halls of Time were destroyed. Rather, they were never made and any events correlated to them never happened. Aridike's Timeline was rewritten, yet again, except this time there was no change whatsoever. To his past, that is. It is the fact that Aridike killed himself 2,006 years in the Future in a reality that no longer exists that has been rewritten, leaving Aridike outside Time. Timeless.

Aridike's memories of the Halls of Time, the First, the Temporal Variants, are all that remains of his forgone past. The Hand of Voporak, or at least what it turned into, is just Aridike's prosthetic limb, with absolutely no Temporal Powers whatsoever. There is absolutely no evidence that any such timeline ever existed. That is, except for one thing.

Artakha had summoned Aridike because he found a sword. A golden and uniquely ornate sword of unknown origin, embedded with an immense aura of Time Energy. It was this sword that, as far as he can remember, Aridike used to kill the First. The Sword of Time.

And it is with that where I officially end "The Race Against Time Itself." I doubt I will make a similar endeavor for Aridike or any other MOC-related story. This was just so very time-consuming and build-restricting. Anyway.

Well! Hope you Enjoy!

That was... interesting. Does this mean the multiverse no longer exists, then? And a slightly more confusing point: if the the Halls of Time had never existed, Aridike wouldn't be outside of time since the required scenario for him to become so could never happen. Right? Alternately, you can explain it to me on dA. It can cope better with your blocks of text XD

Quoting Everox Toa of Plasma So, does that mean only Aridike 229 Exists? Or is it just normal Aridike, no numbers after his name? Anyways, Great Finale to the story, that Sword of Time and Hand of Voporak looks awesome on him btw.
When I refer to Aridike, yes, I mean 229. That's just due to the perspective of the story, and yes, he's the "last Aridike." Really, there was always just one Aridike, but scattered across infinite timelines, but now those timelines kinda impoloded. All except Aridike 229's, or simply, Aridike's.
