M.A.W.
M.A.W. A terrifying defense robot.
About this creation

This is my latest creation. I call it M.A.W. I haven’t quite figured out what that stands for, so I’d love to hear your suggestions.

Obviously it’s made from Hero Factory pieces. I had all my pieces organized and laid out in front of me and decided to build something that was not humanoid. When I saw that I had four sphere-shooter pieces in gun-metal, I knew those would be the feet. Then I literally built it from the ground up.

The hardest part for me is deciding what universe to place this creation in. Originally, it was going to fight the heroes from the Hero Factory. But by the time I was finished, I realized I had taken a lot of inspiration from…

Star Wars! Surprise! Yes, this just wreaks of Terror Droid/Terror Walker. In fact, it’s a pretty good representation of what you’d get if you combined those two.

So I bet you’re wondering why it’s called M.A.W. Here’s why:

In addition to its mighty claws that are laced with acid (a robot this big has no need for venom, and if it were to fight against the Hero Factory venom would be useless against other robots) it has a huge, gaping…maw.

The maw is ostensibly used for incinerating waste, broken equipment, local flora, enemy troops, etc. on remote outposts where visitors are scarce and garbage is not disposed of regularly. However, it is far more likely that the designers wanted to incite utter terror into the hearts of enemies who happened upon these weapons.

More pictures below, as promised.

Rearing up.

Dodging maneuver.

Starkiller attack!

This was just a fun build. I think it would be fun to make one that actually looks like the Terror Walker, but alas, I have not the pieces for such a task. I'll have to just enjoy this like it is.

Let me know what you think!
