Robot Command Centre (Mark 2)
Set 6951 Robot Command Centre, also known in the UK as the Cybernaught is to my mind one of the very best Classic Space Lego sets. My brother got it for Christmas one year, and I was blown away by its functions: a mobile robot base with buggy, space hopper and rocket all detachable from the main frame of the construction. Here is my take on a mark two model of this amazing set, with all the core features still present. I hope there is an AFOL or two out there who gets a nostalgia kick out of this one. Also big thanks to Lego Knight on Flickr, who has made available the Classic Space backdrop used in the main shot.

My best friend and I bought this set together and split the pieces. It was together for a span of 5 minutes I think. I'm now wishing that I hadn't because it's such a great set. Nice Re-Deployment of this set!

I've been collecting pieces to make the original with plans to create a newer version. I like your rocket and mini vehicles but I prefer the original main body.

Great work here David. It may be my favorite "base" by you. I love how much playability you packed into this one, and the little vehicles are a great touch. Man, I need to pay more attention, you keep slipping these things past me;)

Quoting Andre Benjamin This is so cool! I really like the buggy and the space hopper! Never seen anything like this before; can't wait to see what you do with Classic Space next!
The original Robot Command Centre was a really strange concept, but I think that's why I liked it. I hoped to capture the same peculiar feel.

Quoting Dave Kaleta Yours has the same modular vehicle components that made those classic sets so fun to play with. Great work. ~Dave
I loved the modular techniques of the classic space range, I might play around with this in future builds.

Quoting StoveTop Creator So, did you scavange this from your brother, buy a used set, or put it all together yourself? Looks like you have a few responders who knew that set, how cool it that! :)
All our Lego ultimately got muddled up together, so when I took custody of my childhood collection, I in fact took charge of his collection too. I'm holding onto it until such a time he wants to take charge of some of it. Although saying this almost every part of this build differs piece-wise from the original,
