5767 Hot Rod
Large Scale Hot Rod alternative of 5767. Features opening doors and HOG controlled rack and pinion steering.
About this creation
5767 is a great set for alternatives. It has plenty of pieces, including bricks, plates, tiles, slopes, gears, and hinges, which are very helpful when MOCing with the set. However, it is quite a challenge to make an alternate model from such a large set. Nevertheless, I am quite pleased with what I came up with.

Front view, showing the lights and grill. I'd like to make a better grill, but there were not any grill elements remaining, and there weren't enough in the set anyway. Few light gray pieces remained, so I instead simply used some white plates and tiles.

Side view. As only half of the model is yellow, I still had quite a few yellow pieces left over.

The rear view; probably my favorite. This shows a hint of the interior.

Top view.

The engine, which I'm quite pleased with. To provide extra power, it's a V10 instead of the normal V8.

Interior with detailed dashboard, steering wheel, lever, reclined seats, and center console with steering knob.

The doors open.

And finally, the bottom view. It actually reveals very little in terms of mechanics, but it shows that the chassis is constructed with some technic bricks.

Feedback is welcome.

I don't know if you saw my reply on my Rolls Royce, I tried to post it twice but its not showing up. Nice work on this by the way, great alternative. I basically just said that you were almost insulting to some people with your ratings. No offence! :)

Hi. Thanks for your considered reply to my comment elsewhere - I hope I didn't cause offence and I don't mind how people interpret my creations. I do have one question; given your scoring criteria I am surprised that you scored the interior of my Morgan as highly as you did - it's not as nice as the interior of this, for instance. Nice rod, by the way.

A very nice alternative. It's not as good as if you had free choice of bricks from your collection, but that's the point of alternatives I guess! Good job, a really playable looking creation. 4 stars : ) Keep it up

Payback time! My turn to judge! Impressive model. And probably your biggest MOC so far. I like the doors and the details inside the cockpit. Great model overall!

Quoting Loek Marcus Very cool! I like how you did the doors, it looks very well thought. I also like the engine and I like how you put the steering knob IN the car except for sticking OUT of the car like the original one (that's why mine steers with the steer) Overall you did a good job. 5/5! :-)
Thanks; it's funny, the steering knob placement wasn't intentional. It was just due to lack of axles :)

Well done, mate. Especially I love how u made an engine, the doors are little bit rough, but overall its awesome. Cant wait for my vacation, so I can have time to make an alt from 5767 set.

I like it very much. Massive. Huge waouh effet with some functionality. Yes, big sets are a real challenge... too many pieces. Hard to post-edit and rebuild. I'm happy to see an Alt from this set (I don't own this one).
