In this, the month of July, I celebrate my MOCversary and this year, it's a triple play c-c-c-combo breaker with three big projects I've been working hard on. Enjoy part 1, Starscream!
About this creation
Hello all! It's that time of year again, and I've got the biggest projects of the year on display for this MOCversary of mine! I've got three huge builds, in size and scope, to show off this year's work, each better than the last! First off the line is Starscream. Let's have a look, shall we?

This is this is his Jet Mode. Some of you may remember my last Transformer, Desert Storm (who unfotrunately lost all of his pictures in the MOCpages crash), and this is my direct sequel to that build. I use a lot of similar techniques but I focus a lot more on the vehicle mode aspect of the build.

The build as a whole is a lot cleaner, and it looks a lot more like the vehicle it's meant to look like.

And here's a great look at that realness. The Cockpit is my absolute favorite part. It's got that dragon head AND it fits a minifigure. Sorry I couldn't get a good shot of it, but the thing is HUGE! Bigger than I have room to take pictures with it!

The only thing I don't have to a T is the top of the Jet Mode; you can still basically see that it's a giant robot. XD Fortunately, I can argue that you'll only see his bottom half, so, it works out.

Speaking of, you can see the Bottom half is pretty well disguised, complete with landing gear and everything. It's basically just those red panels all across there. I tried to seperate the colors for Red on bottom and Blue/Silver on top. Also, these are his G1 colors, which I prefer.
On to the transformation! Here's a basic overview of how he transforms in the pictures below.
I won't waste too much time on the transformation, except to point out one detail:

This little spring in the legs makes it so the legs keep their folded position, either in or out, which I found very neat when making this. It's quite the complex structure to make it all fit in that 2-stud wide space, but I made it work!

And here he is! Large and in charge! Well, second in charge, next to Megatron. Let's have a look, shall we?

I really tried to get a sleek look for Starscream, what with the wings and all. I figure this is more of an Aerial Battle Alt. Mode for him, where he's flying as in Robot Mode.

As such, he's got himself some cool wings and a sort of cape-like structure out of his lower hull in Jet Mode. It all looks pretty neat in person.

Unfortunately, he's still got to use the stand. It's unfortunate, but he's just too top heavy and the legs can't cope with the weight.

And his back. Gives a nice look at the wings and cape structure.

And, the cape has a double-purpose: it holds the wings in place AND has room for the Cockpit. You can really see the details in it here, and why I love it so. :D

Starscream: "Grr, I got HUUUUGE MUSCLES!!"

Starscream: "Okay, shut up! I can still kill you even with stick arms!"
BARON's Notes:
Well, I'm very proud with what I've done here. That's not to say he's perfect, far from it. He's still got the problems of realness in Jet Mode and practicallity in Robot Mode. I'm already working on another Transformer but I'm going about him in a totally different way. Hopefully, this one will be the pinnacle of my success. I've already got him started. Here's a sneak peek:

Well! Hope you like him!
This is 1/3 of my MOCversary! Stay tuned for more!

Very sleek Jet mode! Impressive transformation mechanics, the spring bit is excellent. The robot mode is a bit out of proportion, he's still very impressive. |

He's pretty cool, although I think you would have had more success at this scale with system pieces. Good luck with the next one, if you did this well here, I can't wait to see what you can do next!
Well, I'm definitely incorporating a LOT more system into this next one. Got a Biiiiig Bricklink Order to make before I can get to serious business. |

Wait, which head is the real one? The Surge Helment or the one above it? XD
The one above it of course! The Surge Helmet was just a good fit as a covering for the empty hole in his chest. |
