Description: The Brownie is a single seater inner planetary fighter, developed as a side project from the main Grey Lady technology.
The 3000 series features no jump trigger.
It employs 4 main cannons, each capable of plasma fire in the forward arc.
Used mostly for capital ship support and defence.
4010-Q Grey Lady "Canterbury"
Description: The Canterbury is a complete redesign of the basic Grey Lady concept. Intended entirely for space combat, it uses a unique and highly controversial raised cockpit design and is classed as a "vertical fighter".
It possesses only a single forward turbine cannon, however it packs almost its entire engine capacity into a single, capital craft cracking shot.
Designed with a heavily re-conceived jump drive, it can jump twice the distance of any other Grey Lady, making them the preferred counter strike weapon for surprise attacks.
1999-H Grey Lady "Demon"
Codename: 1999-H Grey Lady "Demon"
Description: Created as a custom unit, the Demon is the final official design created under the 1000 series Grey Lady heavy bombers.
Built for range and strength over speed, it packs 2 jump units, extending its maximum jump range by nearly 10 times the range of the older models.
It packs only 2 turbine weapons, however it has 2 forward bomb bays which can also serve as secondary cockpits.
The crew compliment varies, but can be as many as 12, pilot, co-pilot, 2 navigators and as many as 8 gunners.
Shielding is possibly the heaviest of any Grey Lady, before or since.
Sadly it is a large target for returning fire and is just a little slow compared to other units in its class.
2100-V Grey Lady "Ghoul"
Codename: 2100-V Grey Lady "Ghoul"
Description: A complete redesign for the Grey Lady 2000 series, featured (initially) the replacement of the twin turbine lasers for a single nose mounted weapon. The Banshee specialises in dog fighting and sacrifices range for manoeuvrability, particularly outside of an atmosphere.
All 2000 series units incorporate a more sophistigated jump trigger, which encompasses the entire fighter, rather than being created behind the engines. This increases accuracy of jumps.
2004 Grey Lady "Banshee"
Codename: 2004 Grey Lady "Banshee"
Description: Developed from the Grey Lady interceptors, the Ghoul is a mid sized bomber class unit. Unlike the much smaller Phantom, the Ghoul is heavily armed, has a much larger engine capacity, is crewed by 2 and packs additional mine and missile racks in the wing assembly.
It still possesses a static jump unit, for fast insertion into combat situations, and possesses the same twin turbine cannons. Unlike earlier designs the jump unit is integrated into the wing assembly for greater control and accuracy of jumps.
The main fuselage is significantly wider and heavier, which means despite having more thrust and power than the Phantom, it requires much more power to achieve the same flight speeds.
The additional armour also provides for the addition of ray shielding of the thruster and cockpit area, making it far more resilient against counter offensive measures.
Due to the unique wing assembly it lacks the vulnerabilities associated with the Politest.
