Sailboat
About this creation

I thought that it was far too long ago since I had made a minifig scale creation. When I was a little younger I always loved building boats, no mather what sort, ferries, cargoships, tankers, speedboats, anything. 2 weeks ago I found it was time to build a ship again. This boat was originaly meant to be a Jaguar 27, but half way thru I went into improvisation.

I'd like to hear from you all what I could improve, because this boat is sort of a tryout. I really want to know all your opinions as I'm wanting to build some more in minifig scale in the far future. Any suggestions?

Please tell me what you think I could improve and if you'd like to see some minifig scale thing from me.

Hope you enjoyed!!

yesterday, I saw a great fishing boat, check on what s been done this week on the main moc pages, if you insist on sails, henrik made some you should study carefully, they are accurate in the extremes! as for yours, well, except for the hull, wich needs work, it s very promising, I like it a lot, not much people make ships and boats for figs, except pirates of course, once you have seen my suggestions, no doubts, with your talent, it s going to be remarquable, good luck!

Nice design, i like it. Maybe you can build it a little bigger. Than, i think, it looks awesome.

I think this is a wonderful creation. I wonder what the hull would look like if you used some of the newer 1x3 curved slope elements without studs (if you have access to them). I think the contrast between areas might benefit from this adjustment. Great work. ~Dave

Hi Thomas! I think, this ship is fantastic! I like the ropes, my favourite part is the bar on the sides. You ask advice, so I give you one! :D I think, the ship is too wide or too short. With this length and width it looks a little bit fat. :D But maybe this feature makes the ship really nice and cool! I don't know... :D :D :D

I don't think you could improve anything, as it is a cool original MOC, and you don't see enough of them around here, LOve it, and the added details of the sail just top it off, very cool! Chris

Tomas, I respectfully disagree with Ape on the hull. I've learned after building dozens of boats that each one is unique, just like in real life, and sometimes the one's that seem a bit quirky turn out to be the best ones of all, the one's you try to recapture later down the road, again hats off on this build! Wow, great! Love the scale, too.

If you remake thev hull. I tink you should putbsome effort into the waterline as wall. Right now it is a but low and not so much a line.

Nice build! The headlight peices used on the deck looks a bit to big. Maybe they can be replaced with 1x1 plate with ring or some other smaller piece. There should be somewhere to sit in the stern. (and to enter the interior of the bost).

Quoting Ape Fight This is an interesting build. I really like it - it looks very much like a real sailing boat, you've nailed the deck details. The hull is the most interesting bit; I think it could be smoothed out with practice, but it still looks good now. 5 stars
That's true, it could be smoother, but I'm not going to do that, mostly because this boat uses all of my white slopes and for such small MOC I didn't want to order more. It might be possible with tiles, but I chose not to, because I wanted to try if I could do the hull this way. I shall your advice in mind when using this technique again and I have enough right bricks. Thanks for the help!

Like Ape said, smooth out the hull a tiny bit and you're perfect! This is really good, especially the windows and all the string&sail bits.

Thanks! I had thought that maybe the hull needs some improvements..... But if you say so! I too think the sail is nice touch, even though it was very easy, it's just a triangular paper rolled around the mast and then I secured it with a string, works great!
