This is a rather old build. It was one of my first attempts at a single-shot MOC. It was exclusive to Flickr until now. Below is a story that I just thought up to go along with it.
About this creation
It wasn't meant to happen this way. It was just a simple mission. Who knows how many drills we had done preparing ourselves for this moment. It was all a little mistake. A mistake that cost one of us his life.
The year was 2168. We had tracked the smugglers to the heart of the city. Why they decided to put up a base in the capitol, we'll never know. But they were there. And we needed to get them out.
The last crates had gone in through the drop off point. They had just begun conversing about the cost. We were in position. *Shlikk* Thomson had just repelled onto a neighboring roof. I watched from the carrier. Michel ran up to the outer gate and started placing the detonators. All was going exactly as planned. What went wrong that day?
The time ticked on. I checked to make sure my gun was loaded, then, I jumped. I slid down the cable and onto the roof. Thomson jumped across with me and ran up to the skylight. We waited. Then, it happened. A small bump sounded from the bottom of the building. The latch opened and a terrific explosion rent the air. Michel had done his job. The sounds of men yelling were all around me as I smashed through the skylight and into their midst. Glass scattered across the floor and men fell over in their chairs. I raised both my guns and covered them. One reached to grab a gun from under the table. Thomson leapt down on him before I could do anything. The tension broke. One of the smugglers ran in behind me and grabbed my arms. I shot frantically as I fell over onto the floor. I heard a door slam as I jumped up. The room was empty except for the bodies of two smugglers and wrecked furniture. I raced to the door and shoved it open. Thomson's body lay just beyond. I jumped back just in time. Bullets thudded into the doorpost where my head had been. Then, a massive explosion shook the house. The roof came down and I remembered no more.
Next I knew, I was lying on a stretcher in the open air. Men ran all around me. My brain was fogged. I couldn't remember anything. I glanced around and there on a stretcher beside me lay Michel. He was dead. It was obvious. All the memories came back like a flash. The building. The explosion. What had happened? Why was Michel lying dead beside me? My questions were never answered. I was moved to a hospital at the base. As soon as I was well we moved to a different location. My memories were the only thing that stayed with me.
Thanks for sitting through that. I hope you enjoyed my attempt at a dramatic, confusing war story. I really have no idea why I wrote that. It came to me, and I put it down.
This has been my first MOC in almost 6 months. I can't believe it. I will definitely be posting more stuff soon.
Please rate/comment. Thanks!

Great presentation with an excellent atmosphere. There's just something about one-shot MOCs that is truly captivating when done right. Wouldn't you agree?

Very nice. I love the atmosphere, and the skylight/light is a nice touch. Also, I'm a sucker for that dark bley 2x2 sticker with all the components.
Thanks! That sticker came from the Wampa set from a couple years ago. I'm one of those builder that puts on all stickers. No matter what piece they go on. |

A few grammatical errors, but still not too bad. Also, make some of the sentences long. As a writer, I understand it is a way of building suspense as well as a writing style, but you overused it. Nice MOC though!
Yeah. I was going for a very confused, "I don't know what's happening here" story. Of course, that makes it slightly hard to understand. But that was what I wanted. Thanks for the feedback! |
