I'm reasonably pleased with the way this turned out. Not as fond of it as I am of my DB5, which has become the creation of mine that I am proudest of, and I am unlikely to dismantle it any time soon. Sorry, talking about the wrong car here! The 300SL - the front took some work, had to try a few times to find an appropriate solution, the interior is not so good, little (no) detail, and windscreen looks just wrong. I may or may not try to improve, probably the latter.

The 300 SL is one of my favorite cars. It's rounded shapes are very hard to build in Legos especially at this scale. You did very well. I think you would need to work with SNOT techniques and special parts to make it better.
Thank you! You are right, maybe something to think about in the future. |

It looks so smooth with the lines, you nailed it in both versions.
Thanks! |

Thanks! I always new this wasn't going anywhere in the contest, so I built the SA Aperta ;D |

(not my judging comment) Quite well made, I like its smoothness! For the contest, I'd recommend to add the creations that you want at the end of the contest, as I am fairly sure that you can't remove entries once they are judged.
Good point. Thanks! I think I might keep this as an entry, I think it is a good example of a summer car. :) |

I thought it was 190 SL, it's still a well made model nonetheless.
The shaping on the bonnet is admittedly more like a 190, so I see where you're coming from:) Thanks! |

Shaping is cool, for me especially the rear end! On the front there is one little "mistake": The 300 SL has two "bulges" on the hood, not one in the middle (you could use two of those new 1x4x2/3 bows for them). The rest of the front is cool, the side view, too. Oh, and the window frame was chrome silver on the roadster. Anyway, great job! :-))
I knew it had two bulges, I just couldn't figure a way to do it, I've never heard of those pieces:/ could you post a link? I also knew about the windscreen, no excuse for that one;) Thank you! |

For the windscreen try a simpler 1x4 solution, but make it only 3 plates high. Use a black tile on top instead of a red one...
Good idea! I knew the windscreen wasn't body colour, so I don't know why I used the red plate. Ah well, thanks! |

Cool car! Maybe you should try and make a coupé version with gullwings, but this roadster versio really looks good. Great job, I love your 5-wide series!
Thanks a lot! Shaping is a lot easier on five wides I think, but gull wings won't be easy.. I'll try though!:) Thanks! |
