Presenting my LEGO® revolver!
About this creation
Looking for a new type of firearm to replicate last year, I decided to try building a ‘working’ revolver which would feature a rotating cylinder with six distinct chambers, an opening ‘gate’ for unloading the handgun, and a moving hammer for ’cocking’ the model. The fragile, light gray prototype ended up sitting on my shelf for around 6-8 months; last week, I was inspired to rebuild the frame in black and discovered a better way of replicating the cylinder assembly. I then strengthened the frame and refined the grip and trigger guard to finish the replica.

[Technical Data: O/A Dimensions: 10.8” long, 1.5” wide, 6” high (top of front sight to bottom of grip loop). Completion Date: July 11, 2012. Total Weight: 0.38 lbs.]

The gun cocked.

The cylinder removed from the frame.

The cylinder and gate assembly removed from the gun. These barrel pieces are very useful for representing chambers and especially barrels!

Thanks for looking; let me know what you think!

Quoting silly productions Where did you get the black "barrel" pieces, I can only find them in brown? Excellent model
The black variant of the barrel piece, which I found on Bricklink, was produced only for the 1990 Space Shuttle Launch set (#1682). Thanks for the comment!

Cole, this may be one of the greatest revolver replicas on the internet! Very clean amount of details and the fact you (of course) pulled off getting the cylinder to flip out without removing it is amazing! You should go for a Magnum 500 as your next build

The cylinder and barrel are extremely well-done, and your idea for the trigger guard is very clever. A solid 5/5, because revolvers are HARD to build.

Quoting Gregory Andrews ...Did you just copy this from pictures of the real weapon? Remember you should always remove the rounds before removing the cylinder. 8^)
Yep, and a ruler and calculator helped ensure accurate measurements of said pictures. That is a great safety tip; unfortunately, one has to remove my LEGO cylinder before one can remove any of the cartridges! Thanks for the comment! ~Cole

I love how you were able to get that much amount of detail and contour into this gun. Also, I personally LOVE revolvers,so it was nice seeing one from you. This is probably the thought on everyone else's mind right now: "Make more guns!"

Simply AMAZING. I am still in awe at builders like yourself who can take all those little pieces and make something like this. Did you just copy this from pictures of the real weapon? Remember you should always remove the rounds before removing the cylinder. 8^)

When I first saw the picture, this gun looked real! This gun is so realistic and detailed, I will honestly say it is the best Lego revolver I've seen on the Internet. The barrel is genius. Yet another masterpiece!
