ZET D-5 (MAN 33.422 special tow truck)
About this creation
This is ZET's (Zagrebacki Elektricni tramvaj - Zagreb Electric Tram) special tow truck.
It is one-of-a-kind - a MAN 33.422 6x6 truck with a custom Tehnomehanika crane made in Croatia specially for towing broken-down trams and buses.

For pictures of the real truck please go here.

Some LEGO geekiness:
I'm not much of a sticker person so instead I tried to fake the stickers from the real truck with different colored bricks.

If you're wondering why it's not all studless - well, go see the photos of the real truck. ;)

This is a 1:16 scale Model Team styled truck - meant to be displayed and not played with. It has only one function, shown in the video below.

Here's a collage of some of the details.

And here are some more pictures...

Thanks to the good people of ZET who made these last photos possible.

Big thanks to my fellow luggers from Kockice for helping me out with some bricks.

Thanks to Sariel whose Model Scaler I used to calculate the scale and proportions of this model.

Thank you for visiting!

Well done. Leaving some studs suits this model as it more accurately reflects the real truck. Sometimes going studless is too smooth and not realistic. You have captured the trucks details well - kudos!

Alright! Now that's what I'm talking about. I am quite pleased with this. It seems like a piece of Denis Bosman collection. ;)) Anyways I am certainly glad you're back on track. Ah, yes I especially like the video where you thought we wouldn't notice that you are making the vroom vroom noises :))

Thanks, everyone.
Quoting Halhi 141 Great aesthetics, though I'd prefer it without so many studs.
Like I wrote above, it's very intentional. ;)

SO brilliant! You must have spent a lot of time getting all those details just right. The brick-built MAN-sign and other decals looks great, a fine alternative to stickers :-)

It doesn't even need stickers! How cool that you could photograph it with the real thing. Excellent work (oh, and I like your sound effects on the video). ~Dave
