About this creation
Here's my entry for Mr. Xenomurphy's Superhero Contest. I built in the category "vehicle", and choose to build a boat for Catwoman, The Catamaran. (Thanks to Brody Allen for the name.)
Here it is without the water base. I gave it a few subtle (and not-so-subtle) cat-like aspects, which you'll probably notice later. However, above all I tried to make this look dangerous, and outfitted it accordingly.
One of the stabilizer pods. I really like how these bits turned out, and they get even better later...
The back. Notice the cat-themed rudder, and the high powered turbo jets can outdistance any other boat on the sea.
The front is armed with two machine guns. This is enough to deter pirates and petty criminals, but not enough to scare away supervillains. However, it is enough so that supervillains don't grow suspicious and fear a trick.
Of course, there is a trick. Hidden compartments open to reveal a high powered cannon on the front, and a dual machine gun and missile launcher on each pod. These were really fun bits to add, getting them to fit was something of a challenge. I figure that it's just not a superhero vehicle without some hidden armament.
The hidden panels on each pod flip up, and the machine guns rotate into position as the missile raises to an attack angle.
The transformation is complete.
The hollow where the cannon rests.
If any opponent approaches from the rear, the dual machine guns can rotate to fire backwards.
Also, a hatch at the back opens to reveal a pair of missiles.
The viewscreen swings up, and Catwoman is seen at the controls.
On last shot on the base.
This was a great contest to build in, thanks to Mr. Xenomurphy for starting it and the judges for donating their time. Good luck to the other competitors, and thanks for stopping by!

Yeah, I was going to use a more feminine colour, but I have next to no pink and light blue would look odd against the blue background. Thus I decided that Catwoman would paint her boat in more dangerous looking colours. Thanks! |
