Here's Victor, the Violet-eared Hummingbird. An addition to the new Tropical Bird Series.
The Green Violetear has a range from the highlands of southern Mexico to Honduras, the highlands of Costa Rica and western Panama, mountains of northern Venezuela and the Andes from western Venezuela to western Bolivia.
He is the smallest bird I've built so far and was rather tricky to get all of his features right in such a small scale but I think he looks good enough and is instantly recognisable which is what my aim is.
I also built him a little flower to feed on.
I really hope you like him and that you will help me to gather another 7,800 supporters for my LEGO Bird Project on CUUSOO
Brilliant! I can't wait to see him. He is a chubby little bird with the cutest face, he will be difficult to mold because he is so round but I have complete confidence you can pull it off. I'd love the instructions too... ;)
Quoting Leda Kat =^..^=
This is so cute. The colours are gorgeous and that flower is really impressive. Have you attempted a Kakapo yet?
Hey Leda! Nice to hear from you. I was asked by Scirocco Kakapo himself to build one and I have struck a deal with a UK Bricklink vendor who absolutely loves the Kakapo. He is going to sponsor me with free lime and sand green pieces in exchange for instructions :-D I am definately going to build one! I have a few more N.American/Canadian birds to build but rest assured He will be the first bird I build from the Oceana series. I'm going to call him Kauri :-)
My favorites are the flower petal and wing techniques. We have many hummingbirds out here where I live. If I go out with the dog for a walk in any bright colored clothing, they will buzz down to check it out. :)
