MXSHC Round 1 Entry 'Fail' - The Death Of Spider-Man

About this creation
Well, here is my Entry to Round 1 of Mr. Xenomurphy's Super Hero contest and for it I decided to do something a little different for me...

So here we Spider-Man... failing.... miserably. Being blown up by The Green Goblin.

KABOOM! As they say in the comics!

Spider-Man is looking very battered. His costume is ripped, he's been unmasked and he's been hit with a razor bat blade as well.

But where is this battle I hear you ask... Well, I can't actually hear you ask it through the internet but oh well, let's just say I can.

Here's your answer! On the top tower of a suspension bridge. Brooklyn Bridge I do believe. The whole moc is built with forced-perspective but I'll get to that in a bit.

Here's old Gobbo himself, flying in on his Goblin Glider.

Pumpkin bomb in one hand, bat blade in the other he zooms through the skies, an ariel menace.

Spider-Man's mask lays smoking on the floor. Also looking down the bridge tower you can see the forced perspective. The cars on the road and further down, the water.

Here's a better view of that. Another little detail to note is the darker water in the shadow of the road.

The poles sticking out are the ends of the wires that would link to the next tower but that's all I could show on a 16X16 base. You can also see another bat blade stuck in the ground atop the tower.

The road and shadowy water below.

The other side of the bridge.

The explosion again.

Looking down the roads with the miniature cars.

The back of The Green Goblin, flying in for the kill.

The explosion and looking down with forced perspective again.

A Goblin's eye view.

And again.

A random shot with Liberty Island in the distance... not sure why. I thought it looked cool. haha.

Spidey's mask and the explosion.

Spider-Man himself again.

BONUS PICS:

Well here are some shots I took along the way. The first few are of various different glider designs I came up with. This is the first. It doesn't have a head yet because I'd already decided it looked to bulky.

The 2nd design. I liked it but the wings wouldn't straightne enough for my liking.

This is the design I chose in the end.

I loved this design and kept it but it just looked too big in the scene.

A practice shot of Gobbo.

Here he is on the other Glider. Notice the smoke trail.

And again.

From the back.

Well that's that. I was quite confident with this but now having seen the other entries I'm not so sure any more. I came up with a whole long list of ideas of what to build, one of which I started on, fogetting the 16X16 limit and had to scratch but oh well. I decided to try Spider-man, my 2nd favourite Superhero rather than Batman who is my 1st just for something different. Also I know that Mr. X' likes Spidey! Haha!
Good luck to one and all who are entering this fantastic competition.

Your score = 6 > Complex build, a LOT of detail, a ramarkable Spider Man minifig BUT... the influence and inspiration is WAY too obvious. Let's not forget it's a contest and originality is the first thing we're looking for.

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Excellent entry, Blast, and a very important scene from comic culture/history. I once thought about building that scene myself, but without a forced perspective. Well, that was not in my budget. --- In the comic drawings, it is the Brooklyn Bridge, though in the text they say it is the George Washington Bridge. --- The ripped costume is a great addition, just like the interesting bonus pics with the alternate designs. Good luck in the contest.
Thank you very much Mr. X'. --Blast--

Well, whilst it's great I'd have to disagree with Dave, I couldn't really see the FP aspect of it, but I'm fairly sure it's your first FP attempt, and great moc never the less.
