Tablescrap Rahi (Bio-Cup Round 2)
This is my entrant for round 2 of the Bio-Cup on MOCpages. Round 2's category prime was Rahi and my sub-category was 'Tablescrap Rahi' which I after found out just meant small really. I really suck at smaller mocs but I can atleast say that I gave this a try.
About this creation

Well here goes.

The high flyer is a rahi that uses a gas filled organ on it's back to either reach great heights or by releasing soms gas, descend to feed on low lying shubery and possibly a few small insects. It's single eye allows it to see a great deal around it and it's finely lined fins dangle down by it's abdomen and slowly wave to control movment. It's small arms are also useful in holding plant matter while it feeds.

This small fellow swims around in the shallows looking for smaller prey to gobble up. It's large compund (insectoid) eyes make it a very observant predator and give it an advantage over it's under-evolved prey. The fins on it's sides are strong enough for it to be able to traverse short areas of land to find new water sources and the spines on it's back are toxic which enlarge to a pair of lethal barbs at it's rear.

This hardy little beetle spends it's days foraging for decaying plant matter and bark. It's armoured shell allows it to feed in safety and it's small head makes it a harder target for prey. Those that do clamp down on it's head will get a nasty jab from a pair of horns jutting out from the insects head.

A larger beetle type of rahi that is an active predator. It uses it's large glowing eyes and a pair of sensitive feelers to find prey in the undergrowth. It can feed in safety due to the sensitive feelers and if a larger predator attempts to devour it, t can simply run away on it's long legs or if it's caught, it will have to rely on it's hard shell.

This little toxic terror is an unexpected surprise to larger predators. It's large abdomen creates toxic chemicals which can be fired from two tubes protruding from it's rear and with formidable accuracy and power. It can then move in swiftly to sink it's large jaws into the unfortunate prey.

This massive herbivore roams around grasslands looking for freh pastures to feed on. They are coloured black during the day but at night, they ecome a glowing blue as swirling patterns abound their body in harmoneous displays. A herd animal, it keeps to it's own kind in large groups and uses it's enlerged abdominal regions to keep stocks of food and water in-case of droughts.

I suck at little mocs so this was difficult but also a bit amusing to see how much I struggled with it.
I bet my opponent will do much better than me - http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/76451
I will most likely lose this round but I also gave it my best and that's all I can do.

Excellent little fauna you've innovated here, Fen. I need to come up with more terrestrials like this to fill out surface life in my little fiction. GREAT designs. Cheers!

I already got 3 votes against me, what pretty much means I won't win anymore! Strange you haven't got the vote by Harvey yet...

Quoting Vorred 03 Why do you always say that you won't win and everyone builds better than you? I really like these! Besides the first two they're all spiders, but everyone is very different. I like the silver one most, the silver tubes work pretty great here. Good luck in the contest... against me :D
My self esteem is non-existive so I have little to no faith in my work. I think you will most likely win this round because I suck at mini-mocs but that's just the way things are. I will be looking forward to your entry, I'd love to see what you come up with :)

Quoting Eric Landreneau Great work. I especially dig the silver waterbug. It's really scrappy. By the way; "It's" = "it is". Use the word "its" (no apostrophe) if you want to indicate one thing belonging to another. If the words "it is" would not make sense in the sentencce you are writing, then use the posessive word "its," not "it's". Yep, I'm being a grammar jerk, and I'm not sorry.

Is it bad that I ended up hearing David Attenborough's voice in my head speaking those descriptions? These are well thought-out little critters. I especially love the floating one.

Quoting L.A. Miranda I thought that LEGO bricks shouldn't be used, but I haven't seen a judge saying something about the MOCs that used them, so... I think you don't have to worry about that. Althought they're very cool, I must say that the first and second ones are... How to say it... PERFECT. I love them, seriously, they're so cute! I love how you use Krozienne's 'skirt' on the silver one. Great job and good luck!
They say that bricks should be kept to a minimum but they are only small mocs so the brick pieces encompass a larger area.

Great MOCs, but I don't see the exact rahi feel on them. It's just that they use too much system, and not enough technic. I believe that if you have used some bionicle armor on them instead, they would look much better. Anyways, good luck :)
