The LAV-7 Talon is a light attack VTOL used by the Dawn Forge for a variety of roles.
It contains a powerful nose radar that improves accuracy by 700%, as well as having a 200 mile range and capable of monitoring 250 targets at once, making it an indespensable reconnaissance tool for commanders.
The LAV-7 carries a decent 3 inches of armor, letting it take considerable punishment, but is still vulnerable to heavy weaponry.
The LAV-7 has a top speed of 412 mph.
The LAV-7 is powered by two powerful 2000 hp turboprop engines. They have 180-degree rotation capacity: 90-degrees forward or 90-degrees backwards. The LAV-7 can also fly sideways by tilting in either direction. There are also two small turbojets aboard for more speed and endurance.
On the nose directly under the radar is a CC-24 30mm chain gun. It has a firing rate of 700 rpm and is effective against light and medium armor and most aircraft. Its power gives it versatility, from gunning down helicopters to dispatching medium mechs. The LAV-7 carries eight CM-3 missiles, which are advanced enough to be used against ground and air targets, eliminating ordinance overburden problems. They have been known to down fighters, and two are usually saved for fighter defence during missions.
The LAV-7 is outfitted with advanced fly-by-wire systems that allow for superior maneuverability. It also displays lead for the nose gun, greatly increasing its range.
