Showing off my Fury-class Interceptor that arrived from the Netherlands today. I wasn't patient enough to wait for release in the US so I purchased one over Bricklink.com and am very happy. Special Thanks goes to my friend Stephanie Pratt for her photography and editing.
I also have this set since I love lego sets from thee expanded universe. I bought it for 75 euro, which was way overprized.
Since Lego renewed the contract with Lucasfilm, the sets became way more expensive. I have sets from 1999 and to give you an example: the x-wing from that time costed me 25euro, while the current model costs 75 euro! Still the newer sets look way better...
Just got this for a relative bargain on Amazon. 70 bucks, free shipping. Absolutely fantastic set! Great minifigs, peerless design, ingenious building techniques. It may be compact, but it's got some beef to it. One thing I remind myself of is that video games are annihilating the tactile toy industry--heck, back in 2005, LEGO took a loss. In light of that fact, I'm willing to pay a little more for the premier toy on the market (though toy is too limiting a term). If it means a continued commitment to quality, I'll take the pinch. I'd like my kids to have new LEGO sets to get excited over someday.
