This Means War.
This diorama was built in honor of our country's Independence Day, July 4th 1776. Some credit goes to Batisbricks for some of the design on the M113.
About this creation

United States Army Rangers are closing in on a large weapons outpost in North-Eastern Afghanistan. They were planning to carry out the operation stealthily and unnoticed, but the Militia knew they were coming and readied before the U.S. Troops' arrival. They are now engaging in an even bigger fight for the whole province of Khalmed, a much bigger task. This outpost breach is only the beginning.

4th Wall Commentary:
This diorama took about 5-6 days to finish, and 1 day to post. Please nominate me in The 2012 MOCie Awards as most improved builder and/or MOCcer of the year in the YFOL category. I'm only twelve, so I'll qualify. Thanks for your support!

A lone Black Widow awaits prey to poision.

Snakes in this hostile area will also compete for food.

The first bullets fly when the Troops are in range. They fight far off in the desert parallel to an abandoned highway.

Some shrubbery grows out of the tarmac, creating even more of a challenge for the driver of the M113.

Each terrorist has a weapon. As you can see, this one uses a .50 Cal Browning M1919 to mow down his enemies.

Attempting to dispose of the M113, this terrorist is armed with his handy RPG-7. Don't try this at home, kids.

Inside, cargo crates carry weapons so that the terrorists can restock at any moment.

width="500" height="375" alt="">

I love this photo.

Without minifigures, you can really see the detail in the terrain on this MOC.

Emerging from the sand dunes and entering the battle is our trusty U.S. Army Ranger, Sgt. Nantz. Let me know what you think of his decals.

The terrorists on their, "Jihad Excursions".

Thank you very much for viewing this MOC, and if you liked it, I would really appreciate it if you would rate and comment. Thanks!

If you have the time, also please be sure to nominate me for The MOCies.

~Fritz

Awesome! The troop carrier is very well done, nice idea for wheels there :-) And that terrain.. Excellent road work, that bush coming out of the road looks great. I have been building on a three-baseplate desert as background for my army builds myself but i don't have enough parts to do something like this! About the brick-arms guns: Personally i wouldn't use them but they do add a lot to the detail of your build here :-)

Quoting John Stahlman This is pure awesomeness! Nice M-113, though I would have made these Israeli commandos as the US hasn't used the M-113 since Vietnam. ;-)
Actually, in 2001 the U.S. Army Rangers were using M113s in Somalia during Operation Gothic Serpent. That's kinda what I was going for.

Great vig with a very nice armoured personnel carrier. I'm surprised you're only 12 - the skills here say TFOL at least. Pity Mocie nominations closed on 31st June; if I'd known I would have voted for you.

Quoting Jon Treasure Great work fritz! I love this! I love how you did the APC! The vig detail is amazing! in my opinion, I consider this professional! Great work! I would love to nominate you, but the mods have locked the topic, so am i still allowed to nominate you?
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks about the "Professional" part! In response to your nomination question, I guess you can't nominate anymore. That's OK, maybe they'll pick me anyway. ~Fritz
