BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT MOVIE MASTERPIECE 1:5 SCALE
Modeled after the Dark knight's segmented armor, Lego is really the perfect medium as it naturally has the look of being made of Many parts, just like the movie. I built him slightly blockier and more rough edged to convey the armor's shape. FEATURES: 38 POINTS OF ARTICULATION 1 NECK BALL JOINT 2 SHOULDER ROTATION JOINTS 2 ELBOW ROTATION JOINTS 2 WRIST ROTATION JOINTS 24 INDIVIDUAL FINGER DIGIT ARM JOINTS 1 WAIST ROTATION JOINT 2 HIP ROTATION JOINTS 2 KNEE ROTATION JOINTS 2 ANKLE ROTATION JOINTS MULTI LAYER "MEMORY CLOTH" CAPE An exterior layer of felt cape (from the technic Darth Vader) underneath, there is a larger wing-like cape made of many smaller pirate sails to get the batwing shape. The pegs on the cape can snap in on his hands at various points making the glider style Batwings or it allows him to hold his cape at various points on the cape. When they are down the also provide Added length for the cape so it's more regal and accurate to the movie. TONAL BAT SYMBOL The subtle look of the batman symbol is achieved with very small scale snot builing. UTILITY BELT Made out of pearl gold accents and grates over light grey to get the subtle silver hits along the sides. There are hooks and jumper plates along the sides and back to mount all of his gadgets and still keep them mostly concealed keeping the belt clean. The circular bat signal is In the center. BACK PACK As seen in the Hong Kong scene in tdk. It's on a hinge and can fold out, and the cape can be tucked inside. GADGETS: FOLDING BATARANGS Made of pearl gold axe heads, they collapse and hook onto the jumpers on the back of his belt. STICKY BOMB GUN Breaks down to two parts and collapses and clips onto the back of his belt, again, pretty close to film accurate. GRAPNEL GUN Slightly thicker than it's movie counterpart, but only so that it can have a spring loaded projectile.

Amazing Batman like the Bat Cape, body look great but i can hardly see the bat on his chest. The head look really good but i don't like that 1 x 2 tile sticking out and it look more like bats is about to cry. The Bat belt look awesome like the use of the gold. Arm and leg look amazing really good.

Amazing! As much as I love your Iron Man this is way better. You've perfectly captured Nolan's Batman. The cape is awesome! Keep em coming.

Quoting Stewart Ramsey this is awesome!!, i am amazed at the level of detail in this moc i am amazed at how complex this is i cant even imagine how long it took to build it i cant wait to see more like it!
This was actually pretty quick, because it is essentially a palette swap of my first Moc Deadpool, I had already figured out all of the anatomy and engineering the first time through. But for my next superhero Moc I am completely revamping the structure of the figure to give it twice as much articulation and durability!

I agree, Lego's offerings are pretty sparse in the figure department which is why I made my own!

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera Very nice work! I really like him but the one thing that bugs me is the patchyness of the cape. I agree that a brick built one would look a bit cumbersome. The Technic Darth Vader set #8010 has a large cape with it that might fit him but I think they might be going for stupid money nowadays, I'm lucky, I own one :-) Anyway knitpicking aside this is a very cool creation, Can't wait for DK Rises!
Thanks for the feedback!I actually use the Technic Darth Vader Cape in the construction, But It's too short on it's own, it only goes down to his knees. The patchwork cape gets the proper length and the pointy bat wing shape, so it's really a combo of that and the cape you mentioned. The only way to make a cape the right size for the moc out of one piece is to make my own cape, but at the end of the day I want my creation 100% Lego.

Thank You John, appreciate the support, especially given the fact that we have the same subject matter. If a hundred likes doesn't tell me the creation is popular, the people spamming my comments with ads for lipstick, and Anti aging particles sure does. Thanks!

There is no remake & no part 2. The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 release not yet in theaters until the summer. http://www.makeup-forum.com/threads/2458-favorite-lipsticks-lip-glosses?p=21775#post21775

Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! This is a simply amazing build! The shaping and details of the armor are incredible! I'd love to see you attempt to make a plate-built folding cape for him.
Thanks! Wow a plate built cape would be quite a challenge. It would be difficult for a few reasons: A cloth cape is versatile for the most poses, and the cape would have to be about 21" long! The weight of that would be enough to throw off the balance, and buckle the hip, knee and ankle joints. Also I think a cloth cape looks the most realistic from far away. I originally was going to make my own cape out of store bought fabric, so I'm glad I found a way to make it out of official Lego.

Quoting Great Lightning-Hawk Of Dawn Wow!Magnificent work and detail. It is clear that you studied his armor well. The whole thing is flawless well except that his hands feature 4 fingers instead of 5 but that's just minor conception, doesn't really matter. This is definitely going to MOTD!!!
Thank You! Glad you pointed out the fingers, that was a proportional choice. With five fingers, his hands looked like boxing gloves and would be wider than his head, that would throw off the overall proportions of the human figure. Plus the Simpsons have been getting away with it for 20+ years, so why not me? :)
