Hunt For "God" #13: Relm of the Barraki
The two figures who stand waiting for death are two different people. One is Galika, a Toa of Water who belongs to the Toa Racta. She, along with five others, tried to reason with the Sombrak, Galika's current captors, to stop their destructive war with the Cult of Thanatos. The Toa were defeated and Galika was captured. The second figure is Goldmine, a member of the Cult of Thanatos, a group of insane criminals that worship a God of Death. Goldmine was on a scouting mission when he was captured. The two currently wait for the fatal push that will send them into a watery death...
About this creation
KEY:
Grey=Narration
Italics=Thought
linked statements will take you to where it happened. eg. "Montu Kills Les Tenebres" would take you to The Unwanted Hero Part 14
ENJOY!

Goldmine is a surviver. He had to be, when he was hunted by Hero Factory on his own planet. He is currently scheming how to get himself out of this deathtrap. He has no plans to die today.

Any thoughts of escape in Galika's mind are immediately ignored. She knows this time she cannot outsmart the enemy and make a dramatic escape. Many thoughts are quickly running through Galika's mind. Not of fear, but of sadness. She regrets that she was unable to help her comrades and that her friends would now be in even more trouble. She knows her friends shall miss her. She must imbrace death.

Soldok and the Brotherhood enforcer move as one. One violant shove sends the two victims into the dark waters. The Cult of Thanatos will not miss Goldmine. It is unlikely that they will even care. The Toa Racta, the six best Toa on Racta Magna, are now going to become five. They will miss Galika sorely.

Soldok: Our work is done here. Remain here at your post.

BoM Enforcer: Yes, sir.

Fifty feet below the same spot, both lie at the bottom of this watery shaft. They have both lapsed into unconcious, as death slowly raises her boney hand to claim the two prisioners. However, The Makuta Sombrak are unaware about a damage in the shaft...

...There is a huge hole in the side of the butt of the shaft. This hole opens up into the dark eternal sea. The Sombrak are also oblivious to the fact that a creature lives here. Six creatures.

The tentacle grabs Galika first, dragging her unconcious body through the hole into the darkness.

Then the body reaches for the unconcious body of Goldmine. The Sombrak never clear the bodies from the shaft. They never have to. When the creatures are hungry, they can always rely on the shaft for a fresh food suply...

INTERLUDE:

Leka: Why aren't you doing anything?!

Onika: What could we do? They got her, and we know she has a talent of annoying Aroxion, so he would probably want to kill her very quickly.

Leka: Why didn't you try to save her?

Onika: I DID TRY!! ALRIGHT?!

Korapa was unconcious, Benu was being smashed up by Zarliz, Parah was losing to Arvour! I have to think of the good of the whole group! You have to get used to losing people, we're going up against a God, for Mata Nui's sake, and someone pretty damn close!

Parah: He does have a point, Leka, we were having a lot of trouble looking after ourselves, never mind everyone else.

Leka:...

...I see.

Korapa:...

MEANWHILE:

Galika:...Wha... I'm awake... and... alive?

...My chains are broken... but... I'm under water... how can I breathe?

???: Awake, are you? probably confused, too. By the way, you can breathe because this is an invisible air bubble around your head. Should keep you alive for a day, but you'll get refills, providing you are good.

Galika: >?!<

Pridak: I am Pridak, and we are the Barraki. We rule here. Be thankful that we have not eaten you... yet.

We have been watching you and the other on the surface. You have considerably more intelligence and imagination than the other one. This is why you are alive. We want you to create something. We already have blueprints.

Galika: What is this thing you want me to create?

Takadox: Six special machines that provide water for us to breathe. It should pump Water into our gills.

Galika: Why should I make this for you? Mata Nui knows what you'll do on the surface!

Pridak: You do not have a choice, Toa!

Well, you do have a choice; Do it, or die!! Now get to work!

INTERLUDE:

Korapa: Hi.

Leka: Go away. I don't want you to talk to me.

Korapa: I actually agree with you.

Leka: Onika doesn't understand. If roles were reversed, Galika wouldn't care about the odds or diplomacy. She would try to rescue him, whatever the odds. Because we are like a family. Its more than just a friendship, we are like family. We look out for eachother. Galika wouldn't care if Mata Nui himself forbid her to rescue Onika. She deserves no less.

Korapa: And She'll get it. Listen, I think there's still a chance of rescueing her. But it is very slim. If she will live today, then we must act now.

Now here's my plan...

50 FEET UNDER THE SEA:

Galika: ...Looks simple enough.

Problem is, The resources the Barraki gave me are very old and manky, so it's gonna be tougher than I first thought.

The tentacle of Kalmah, one of the six Barraki, wriggles up from a crack in the ocean floor.

Kalmah: Hello, Toa. How are things?

Galika: Going good. I know what to do, and putting it together won't be too hard. finding the resources, though, is another matter.

Kalmah: Well, I've got some good news for you...

...You don't have to go looking for the resources after all...!

Galika: Is... he going to kill me?
What do you want?

Kalmah: This is between you and me... I will let you return to the surface alive if you... kill Pridak.

Galika: No! I cannot! It is against my code to kill!

Kalmah: And it's against my code for you to resist me! Do you want to live?

Galika: The others will need me...
...I'll... do it.

Kalmah: Good. I am glad we could compromise! Now, he should be resting at the moment. It is wise to do it now.

INTERLUDE:

Vican: Was it a good idea to open this store, Wadjet?

Wadjet: Sure, Vican!

We can get more money if we lie, too! Like for instance, this mask was used by a Toa to sevearly wound Makuta Tazzuk on Karda Nui! And this Kaukau was worn by Toa Gali herself!
(Neither are true, of course)

Korapa:

Wadjet: WHAT?! O-Oh, um, h-hi, hounourable Toa! Welcome to our second hand mask stand! What would you like to buy?

Korapa: Not buy, Trade. We would like to hand in our masks for two...

MEANWHILE:

Galika: Mata Nui, I do not want to do this...

...Kalmah gave me a rib off some Rahi carcass. It's against my code to kill, but I must survive, not out of fear, but for the rest of the Toa Racta!

...He was right. Pridak is sleeping...

...I must do it. Mata Nui help me...!

Pridak: WHAT?!

BANG!

Galika: AAH!

Kalmah:Damn Toa...!
She's unconcious, leader. Shall we feast?

Pridak: Yes. It is a shame. I had hoped to get on the surface. But, alas. She is an enemy...

...and enemies must die!!

To be continued next issue: The Dark waters.

Ykw, I hadn't thought about the mutagen, I have an interesting idea! And about my room, Its already in the works, but I wouldn't have picked that spot if I didn't want that messy and inhabitable feel! Oh, and although that would be cool, I am unfortunately not German. My bricklink seller was, however, so thats why I have the box.

Nice chapter, Werty! It's cool you introduced the Barraki and revamped them! I would also like to see what the pit mutagen does to Galika! I'm really interested what happens next... and a tip by me: Clean up some of the stuff in your room, it doesn't look very authentic. And you also revealed that you are from germany, otherwise you won't have a "Deutsche Post" package :D

Quoting Norrak The Last Toa Cool chapter! But wait a minuit, didn't Arixon want the Toa alive? =)
Aroxion just wanted to be in control of their deaths. He didn't want them to be killed by Bestox or someone. And he probably wanted to gloat to them as well. Thanks for the comment! :D
