MXSC - R1 - Fail - Subway Mishap
This was a really fun build. I worked probably 10-12 hours on it. It's probably the best MOC I have ever built.
About this creation
During a normal day, Peter Parker heard about something abnormal going on in the subway. He went to his closet, changed into his Spidey suit, and tripped on some green stuff as he was exiting his apartment. As he entered one of New York City's numerous subway stations, he encountered the abnormal something: the Sandman. The two scuffled for a while, until Spiderman suddenly began to grow weak. Sandman used the oppurtinity to knock the poor hero onto the subway track and then made his escape...

EDIT (7/04/2012): New pictures! The old, ugly pictures have been replaced with shiny new ones!

The Sandman making his escape under the filthy stairs.

Two townies frozen in terror in anticipation of what is about to happen.

Hmm...that kid looks familiar...

View down the stairs. You can't see most of the subway details here.

On the street above the station. More civilians gathering to see what's going on.

Artistic view. Fact: Some station entrances are illuminated with red lanterns.

Behind the door on the building. Stairs and some semi-elaborate flooring.

Vacant first floor. Buy this apartment today, and get a free emerald goblet with your purchase!

This is Spiderman's apartment...and is that kryptonite? No wonder Spiderman got stuck in a bad spot. The poisoning probably had a delayed effect since it was a new superhero.

Roof. Two cylindrical objects, an owl, an satellite dish.

Overview of the whole dio. It's 16x16; Sandman/my sigfig stick out about 1/3 of a stud each.

A drainpipe dripping gross liquid. Also, there's a "Caution: Wet Floor!" sign that nobody ever pays attention to.

The sign. This is the first one I've made using a common mosaic technique; I'm quite proud of the way it turned out.

Overview of the whole diorama without figs. I really wish I had a couple more of those 1x6 pillars w/ the indent in the middle..

Detail on the subway wall.

The yellow caution strips. These sometimes do have warning signs.

Easter Eggs

Easter egg 1. Spiders on the subway track!

Easter egg 2. The LEGO logo. I think I got this in an old advent calendar a while ago.

Easter egg 3. A skull from an old Alpha Team set. :)

RE: Tiler - Yeah, I was worried about that. :/ RE: Other judges - I'm relatively new to contests so a bit of input would be cool. :) Thanks for judging!

Your score = 6 > I appreciate the complexity of the scene, however I feel like the focus is rather on the surroundings than the action itself.

Quoting Mr. Xenomurphy Adding one or two more pictures of the whole creation might be a good idea - I'm sure they'll look great. Good luck with the judges.
Good idea! I'll have new pictures today or tomorrow.
Quoting David . This is a really good build, but it's really dark and kind of hard to see some of the stuff.
Yeah, apparently I can still add pics, so I'll be sure to redo a few shots. Good luck!
Quoting Heath 'kik36' Flor Love the multiple layers and the details you put into each. Good luck with the judges!

Great job with layering the levels! This is a really good build, but it's really dark and kind of hard to see some of the stuff. I use all the lights in the room and a couple lamps when I take my pictures, and they've improved some. Anyways, Great job! Good luck! God Bless ~ David.

Justin, you really did a fantastic job creating all the different layers and especially all those little details. I always admire it when builders put a lot of thinking into their MOCs. Adding one or two more pictures of the whole creation might be a good idea - I'm sure they'll look great. Good luck with the judges.

Quoting Scott Allen Cool multi stage moc. It has lots of details. Personally I think you kinda focused on the stage more than the stars of the show. ~cheers
Yeah, I was worried about that. I still think I should've taken more pictures of the subway. :/ Thanks for the nice comment!

Cool multi stage moc. It has lots of details. Personally I think you kinda focused on the stage more than the stars of the show. But the stage is cool. I love how you went vertical. Good luck. ~cheers

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Nicely done, you really fit a lot on a 16 x 16!
Thanks. :) Right now I'm worried that I have too much, and that the judges will choose the builders who had a simple yet nice-looking entry. But thanks for the comment and good luck!
