For The first official round of the bio-cup, category make a multi-limbed toa. I decided to remake my secondary self-MOC, Ulaya. I decided to use the name that Chronos Omega gave him, Moonshadow, so credit to Chronos for that. On this particular entry I tried to go for an insect like lower body, just for reference. Story: In a vicious battle between an army of toa and an army of makuta, their leaders, a toa of light and a makuta of shadow, launched a huge amount of elemental power between the two of them. The blasts of energy met in the middle, and the unexpected happened. Instead of one energy overpowering the other, they stayed in the middle, and then a being blasted out of the energies. He was white and black, and had a blue heartlight. He looked at both sides of the battle, and then held out his hand. A Black dragon blade appeared, and he held his mighty blade up. When he did this, everything went white, and then black. When the phenomenon was over, all that was found at the battle field was a bunch of dead toa and makuta. The toa that found this decided to go after what had done this. They eventually found it, after days of tracking. When they got close enough for it to see them, it brandished its sword and threatened to destroy them if they did not leave. The toa then reassured this great being that they meant no harm, and that they wished to help this being. The mysterious person agreed, and he was taken back to the toa's hideout. There, he learned how to harness his power, and swordsmanship with his dragonblade. After much training, and seeing the grand council of the toa order, he was accepted into the toa. After this, the toa outfitted him with an arm mounted gun, although he always thought he doesn't need it. He went on to become part of a team of toa, whose leader was a toa of light, who also had a blade which was pure white, with a blue gem on the hilt. In a battle with the makuta, their leader was stricken down, and was dying fast. The rest of the team wanted to help their leader, but he said that his time had come. He gave Ulaya his blade, and told him to lead the team in his place. When Ulaya grabbed the sword, it was tattooed with shadow that emanated from Ulaya. Ulaya reluctantly agreed to lead the team from then on, as well as nicknaming his blade “Dark stardust". Ulaya then went on to lead that team against the makuta for many years on Aqua Magna.
After the formation of Spherus Magna, Ulaya was reassigned to several different teams during the period of time where the toa were picking off the last of the makuta. After the disaster of Valki Nui, it was no question that Ulaya would be assigned to the new team of toa that would protect Valki nui. Ulaya accepted, and now fights against the new brotherhood of makuta with the rest of the toa Valki.
Recently, Ulaya has taken on a new form. Some believe him to be somehow evolving into something else. Others beleive it to be some horrid mutation. Either way, everyone beleives that he has deffinetely become more powerful. Through vigorous traning, Ulaya has further learned how to harness his light and shadow powers, as well as his swordsmanship with his two blades, dragon blade and dark stardust. Now more than ever, Ulaya has become a powerful being, shrouded in mysteries that no one can understand or solve..
Well, that was hard. This was deffinetely a more difficult build for me. I think the only reason why is because I have had such a horrible MOCing block lately, I wasn't able to grasp any fresh ideas until towards the end of the MOC. I first tried for four arms. Not enough peices, or ideas. I then tried to go for a centaur. Again, not enough peices or ideas. Finally it hit me. An insectoid lower body. This idea actually worked, thank goodness. Well, although I am proud of my work, I honestly don't think I'm going to win. Bionitech's build is a lot more thought out, and a lot more cool I add. Anyway, thought I'd go out with a bang! Don't worry, it's 2cm below the height limit. Till next time!!

Talon, although it sounds like you weren't all that please with your work here, I still think it still holds merit. If EYE had a nitpick... it would be that the FRONT set of support legs seem overthick in comparison with the rear set. But I liked the greebling and trans accents, especially in that colorscheme. And like Yuri, I like the sword (but I won't steal your design: those WACKY Italians. *rasperry @ Yuri*). Cheers~ =) |

A great display of technic/bionicle prowess, but not interesting or impressive enough in design to beat your opponent, except for that nice sword technique, that I'm totally going to steal, as soon as people forgets where I saw it :) |

I HAVE RISEN!!! Been moving for six days, and I FINALLY have internet access. You have a great build here Talon, just it's wierd seeing Ulaya looking like a... bug. I personally prefer the Adaptive Pakari Nuva to this mask. And, sorry, but the legs do look a bit weird. But I do understand you are in a Moc-ing block, or were. |

I like it, but it kind of looks like you simply stuck an extra two legs on a perfectly good Toa. Take those back legs away, and I think you have something great here. |

Great creation! I already liked him when I saw the thumbnail! The white/black looks really cool, and great work on the torso (and the "fingers" on it as details), and the four legs look also very nice! It's funny so many people make great MoCs with that Pakari lately, and it looks fantastic here, too! Good luck in the contest! |

What a wonderful centaur, erm, I mean...build! I'm sorry for lack of comments, I haven't had the time to comment on most things, so I've been rating. I especially love the 4 limbs, very genius! The trans blue highlights actually comliment the build, I really like it! My only complaint is the small white piece on his back, maybe it could be turned to be even? Awesome, very centaur-esque. Has a great animalistic feel to is, especially with the lower body. And I think the Kakama Nuva looks better than the Adaptive Pakari Nuva. Good luck! |
